Is it not worth replacing the main heading photo with one fully displaying the main building? The castle gate house displays some of varying history of the site but surely doesn't provide a proper overview of the site? A full un-obscured photo of the house, with no railings or in-shot housing, with a bit of the cliff visible would be perfect. What do you think?

Anomalies
There are some anomalies - the current text could be read to suggest that Richard I designed the castle to withstand a siege rather than that he besieged it.
I think the article should also include some of the basics of the story/myths surrounding
Mortimer and
Isabella and how these relate to Mortimer's Hole.
If some of the time wasted nit-picking on the spelling of mediaeval/medieval had been spent on researching the history of the castle in the Middle Ages, this article would be much improved.

Also, I suspect that the siege engines Richard I used were based on those that he used to take Acre - not Jerusalem, which was not besieged during the third crusade.
