According to the Pesta article https://www.marieclaire.com/sex-love/news/a4986/honor-killings-in-america/ the media reporting stating that Noor Almaleki wished to become a model and reporting that she moved in with a boyfriend were not accurate; Pesta's article says the romance started after she moved in with the family friends.
