This paragraph is just to establish a precedence. The Indigenous People of North America were already the inhabitants of the continent long before any of the people on the Mayflower decided to travel across the Atlantic, so there would have been no actual discovery of the land by the Mayflower passengers. 2600:6C67:5A7F:F225:71CA:435A:6A27:4370 ( talk) 00:57, 14 June 2022 (UTC)

"British", not "English" in this context ("English" is the language, this article does not talk about the language) 206.190.231.82 ( talk) 17:42, 16 November 2022 (UTC)
I did a google search and most of them used definite articles and “it/its” pronouns when referring to the ship. The Mayflower is a ship, not a person. It/its pronouns are also acceptable. I perfer them because people might get confused if the article uses she/her pronouns. GenZenny💖 ( talk) 21:53, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
But isn’t my version more common? Most sources tend to use my version. And also, I was stating my reasons for changing it, I wasn’t saying that the article should 100% undoubtedly use my version. GenZenny💖 ( talk) 22:37, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
Consideration:
The first reports of the Mayflower by the indigenous was in the month of December.
The reported date of O.S. November 11th would suggest they waited to make their way inland.
At the time they arrived waiting for twenty days was prohibited and their cargo would have reflected this by expiring less they we're underfunded.
The history they had a funding increase close to their departure suggests they would have departed a day later than reported and their provisions would have been the grade reflecting England's economic system.
The indigenous report strongly suggests they would also have had the support of England of their endeavor despite a hostile native population.
I stand by my recent edit that they arrived on or after the 13th with a two-day margin for error. SPiZlE ( talk) 18:18, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
Please make the correction as it is widely known America did not exist in the 1600’s as a country. 2600:4040:523E:7E00:C0D4:8560:F89B:8010 ( talk) 18:32, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
