If John Marshall Clemens was named after the "Chief Justice" then he was named only when he was over two years old because
John Marshall was not on the Supreme Court until 1801. (Almost like
Hillary Clinton being named after
Edmund Hillary years before he climbed Everest although at least Marshall was a known figure before 1801, e.g. the 1798
