Is this party right wing or left? I see two answers on this page.
It is indeed a left wing party. No one is debating that in Israel — Preceding unsigned comment added by Avivdc ( talk • contribs) 19:50, 6 November 2014 (UTC)
Israel uses the American/Latin spelling of labor. "Labour" should be a redirect to "Labor," but I don't know how to do that. Sorry.
Israeli's I know use British spelling - given that Israel was part of the British mandate of Palestine this makes sense. The use of US spelling is probably only due to the large numbers of American immigrants to Israel.
No that is NOT incorrect and it is not a spelling war. The use of US spelling only began with the large scale American immigration to Israel. Prior to 1948 Israel was a British mandate for some thirty years. Therefore British spelling was used and is the correct one to employ. To use American spelling is historically and culturally inappropriate since it has only been used by American colonists. Also why did you change 'British Labour' to 'British labor'? The British labour party has never used the -or spelling.
man u r sooo right!!! cheers!!!
I'm new to editing Wikipedia so I don't want to make any changes without running these thoughts by other people first. Two names are given for the youth organization in the sentence: "The youth organisation is the Mishmeret Tse’irah shel Mifleget HaAwoda (Hebrew: משמר נוער בתוך מפלגת העבודה)." The Hebrew reads "Mishmar Noar Betoch Mifleget haAvoda." On the hebrew wikipedia page for the Israeli Labor party, there is an external link that takes one to the youth movement's page (www.labor.org.il/mishmeret). That page seems to confirm the English name in the sentence (though it includes a "ha" in front of "Tse'irah"). I would assume then that the hebrew needs to be changed to: משמרת הצעירה של מפלגת העבודה. Personally, I would also recommend changing the spelling in the English transliteration to be "Mishmeret HaTze'irah shel Mifleget HaAvoda" so that it is more consistent with other transliterations on the page. On a related note, the external link to the party's website does not seem to be working for me (neither in Safari 3 nor Firefox 2). However, www.labor.org.il (which hosts the youth movement's page) does seem to work. Has the Labor party moved their website to a new URL? - AvielD ( talk) 01:48, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
Is there any way to get rid of that huge white space after "History"? 207.245.44.227 15:36, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
I have added "Party" into the title because that is what it is, a political party called the "Labor Party" (in English anyway). – Marco 79 02:40, 29 May 2007 (UTC) It's also "Labor Party" in Hebrew so you did right — Preceding unsigned comment added by Avivdc ( talk • contribs) 19:51, 6 November 2014 (UTC)
Image:Labour (Israel).png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot 23:11, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

The section "Political principles - current" seems POV and unsubstantial to me. It starts with "in recent years" which is completely unspecified and useless. And why is "up until" current? Without any sources, it claims that HaAvoda was considered (by whom?) not social-democratic. It claims that the party's platform is centrist, whithout source. It claims that third way is not social democratic, which is in contradiction to the article third way. (I myself don't know the party, but I suspect that in fact the principles have not changed; however, the policies may have.) -- 93.215.166.95 ( talk) 00:14, 27 October 2012 (UTC)

Vif12vf, you revert my edit so let me explain. There are many parties around the world named Labor, so the name of the pages need to be different from one another. However we can simply state the party name in the Infobox which is simply Labor. Look at the Infobox in Labor Party (UK), Labour Party (Argentina), Labour Party (Greenland), Labour Party (Hong Kong), Labour Party (Ireland), Labour Party (Italy) and others. Look at Republican Party (United States) and Republican Party (France) and Republican Party (Liberia). We don't need to mention the country in the name of the party in the infobox. Israeli Labor party isn't the name of the party, its just the name of the article. The party name its just Labor. Sokuya ( talk) 11:42, 20 August 2019 (UTC)
I observe that in the "Election results", in some elections the number of seats is the number of seats obtained by the coalition in which Labor participated and that in other elections the number of seats is the number of seats elected from the Labor Party, not the coalition in which Labor participated (1999, 2015, 2019). Maybe it has sense that the seats will be the seats obtained by the coalition, but the the criterion should be the same. Another option is to show only the seats elected from the party but creating a column called "Notes" or something similar explaining that this seats were obtained within the coalition xxx, that in total they obtained xx.-- Jordi G ( talk) 20:49, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
