Hello Wingspeed - possibly you can help with an item that should be added under this page's Television heading. HW was the subject of a short arts documentary, televised sometime in the 90s I think. There was an element of spoof about the programme as its subject didn't turn up until the very last minute - only to decline to take part. In fact he did appear earlier, but in disguise. Any idea?

Very elegantly put and nicely connected to this page's subtext on the opprobrium of celebrity. It also saved me having to delve into the cupboards to find my VHS copy of the programme. All best Altcult101 ( talk) 16:14, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
I will check as soon as I can find it. And yes, having just looked, that seems to be something of an unbalanced description of the programme. I also just re-read this page and wondered if the reference to The Immortalist premiering at Frestonia National Theatre is entirely accurate. I remember the event well but it was one of at least three "rehearsed readings" of the text (others in South London and Plymouth - judging by a photograph I've seen) that all predated the stage premiere at Sheffield. Ahah, I should have done my homework before writing the above. 1st performance (stated in published copy) was at Oval House, Kennington. Neil Cunningham played the 278 year old man and HW the interviewer. There were a number of other reading performances including at Pentameters. Cunningham discussed this in an interview. Think also it was not Plymouth, but possibly Port Eliot, having looked again at the photo. So at the Frestonia performance Rappaport wasn't the 278 year old man, but the interviewer. Hello Wingspeed, I remember the 'programme' for Illuminatus. I had a copy but it was borrowed by a friend and never seen again The Cunningham interview was part of an article about The Immortalist that appeared in The Chelsea Scoop. This was was something in the fashion of Warhol's Interview magazine but suspect there was only one issue. It was published by Charlie Tennant, possibly during a detox phase as a form of occupational therapy. I still have a copy, which includes the photo of the performance that I am pretty sure was taken in the round room at Port Eliot. Would be happy to copy this for you. All best. The low rent end of Notting Hill is very, very high compared to pretty much everywhere around the world, so that people know. 91.132.224.196 ( talk) —Preceding undated comment added 06:38, 28 February 2009 (UTC). It wasn't very very high back then. More Rachmanesque. No mention of the free festivals involvement, the Ruff Tuff Creme Puff Estate Agency, and the panache and creativity with which he and friends liberated empty homes for homeless families? vstclair 31.05.2009 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.2.189.249 ( talk) 00:43, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
I can't understand the basis for the deletion of the Cape "trilogy" paragraph (restored) but having had the whole "poetry" section brought back to attention I think that the first paragraph is more about "life & career", and part of the ultimate sentence is actually concerned with acting and recording work. Specific references required — particularly in view of potentially libelous nature of issues currently the subject of criminal proceedings. Wingspeed ( talk) 22:15, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
Thought I'd just point out that the AC/DC play mentioned in the article links to the rock group. Does someone want to start a page on the play and change the links? I know very little about this play so I couldn't help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kaleeyed ( talk • contribs) 13:35, 16 July 2011 (UTC)
Could probably do with rewording but basicly he married diana and had 2 daughters with her before splitting with her. He then was with Polly had one son with her before splitting with polly and later getting back together with diana RafikiSykes ( talk)
To be precise he was not married to Diana and after China was born they separated whilst he lived with Shrimpton. Lily was born after they reunited as a couple and later he moved away to Cornwall on his own, some time before he got together with Polly. Altcult101 ( talk) 16:41, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
Jean Shrimpton; an autobiography: Ebury Press;Sep 1990, ISBN-10: 0852238584 and also Jim Haynes book Thanks for coming: Publisher: Faber and Faber, February 1984, ISBN-10: 057113176X. Mostly the information is based on personal knowledge, conversation and correspondence so not very wikipedic. However there is an article by Polly I have somewhere, from the Daily Mail I think, that I will try to find. Altcult101 ( talk) 08:09, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
Corrected long-standing inaccuracy re marital status. Deleted details not contained in Daily Mail piece cited as source. (Confirmed via phone call to Williams that, contrary to Mail's assertion, he & Diana Senior have never in fact married.) Reverted to earlier wording. Wingspeed ( talk) 03:57, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
