Comment: Captain scarlet's edit summaries suggest that the moves were undone because "X railway station" might have been a better format than "X station". Perhaps we can gain consensus for "X railway station" rather than moving the pages repeatedly. Failing that, I would support the proposal as written, for consistency with railway stations in every other non-English speaking country, which don't use article titles such as
Estación de Madrid Atocha or
長崎駅.

I'm inclined to support per
WP:USEENGLISH. Few English-speakers have any idea what gare means, and English-language materials seem more likely to use English-language descriptive phrases like "Granville station". —

There appear to be two conclusions from this discussion.
The old 'Gare de ..' style of naming is not wanted.
There is disagreement over whether to use a suffix of 'station' or 'railway station'
