I am assessing at low importance as a subject that "may only be included to cover a specific part of a notable article." The mid importance article would be
talking drums.

Idiophone or percussion
This Ekwe instrument shown in the picture is idiophone and not have the characteristics of the drum. WIKI: "Drums consist of at least one membrane, called adrumhead or drum skin, that is stretched over a shell and struck, either directly with the player's hands, or with a drumstick, to produce sound." and "An idiophone is any musical instrument which creates sound primarily by way of the instrument's vibrating, without the use of strings or membranes."
It seems to be a
Slit drum, which is one of the few types of idiophone to be commonly called a drum, I guess because for all intents and purposes they are played and sound quite similarly to membranophone drums.
