The son of MLB player Clay Bellinger, Bellinger, don't love the repeat of Bellinger. Could you pipe it so the last name is not used for his dad?
Bellinger was also the selected designated hitter for the California League postseason All-Star team.[15] He also...you mention also back-to-back. Any other word we could use?

Additionally, pitchers began avoiding Bellinger where possible. This doesn't make sense, the article does not mention pitchers refusing to go up against him. Maybe re-word this so explain that pitchers avoided certain throws against him (which is what I assume you meant).
