Added missing clear templates, but this is a minimal problem. Great work by adding the stormpics.
Thanks. I'll work on 1990 later on.

Damage?
If only one hurricane caused significant damage, which was bob that caused $1.5 B in damages, how can the total damages be $2.8 B? Does the infobox incorrectly include damages from the Nor'easter? —
jdorje (
talk) 06:09, 11 February 2006 (UTC)reply
I would guess the box included the nor'easter, which was technically a hurricane at some point. It is iffy what should be included, but one example supports using it. In 2005's infobox, it includes 1 death from Hurricane Maria, a death that did not occur until it became extratropical. They agreed there that extratropical stuff would be included if it was major, so I would guess the same applies here. After all, some of the beach erosion could have occurred when the storm was subtropical or a hurricane. Because it is impossible to differentiate, I say it should stay. However, after all of this, the total is, in fact, incorrect. It is the sum of Bob ($1.5 billion 1991 USD) and the Perfect Storm ($1.3 billion 2005 USD). I'll fix it to make it in 1991 and 2005 USD's.
Hurricanehink 14:36, 11 February 2006 (UTC)reply
The 2005 death was from Maria's remnants. The Nor'easter was the origin of a hurricane but the hurricane had nothing whatsoever to do with any damage or deaths. —
jdorje (
talk) 19:27, 11 February 2006 (UTC)reply
True, but how do you know that the hurricane that formed did not cause any damage? Yes, that entire system caused the damage, but the hurricane could have contributed to the coastal beach erosion. Here's sort of an example I have. For
Hurricane Gordon, it caused around 20 deaths in Guatemala as a precursor system. The whole system caused the deaths, but because it became Gordon they are attributed to Gordon's death toll.

Depressions
I finished 5 & 10-i had to alter the button bar to their correct positions. Now while i was working on it i was thinking maybe we should only talk about up to 4 depressions a season?I'm bringing this up because i am looking for info on TD7-13 for '87.
HurricaneCraze32 19:01, 3 May 2006 (UTC)reply
I think all known TD's should be mention. Be careful on your wording. On TD10, for example, you say the storm formed with a weak circulation on the 23rd, and was named on the 24th. When a tropical depression forms, it is when it becomes a depression, not when it has a weak circulation. Someone should give a good copyedit to what you recently wrote, as it is low-quality writing.
Hurricanehink 21:28, 3 May 2006 (UTC)reply
Not quite. More information is needed in each section, and the writing is poor in places.

Hurricane Eight
I don't mean to be too crtical, but the title of the storm summary for Hurricane Eight is 1991 Halloween Nor'easter, while the infobox for it is titled Hurricane Eight. The Nor'easter wasn't part of the hurricane season, but the Hurricane Eight was. It should be retitled Hurricane Eight. Also, the storm summary seems to be too much about the Nor'easter rather than the actual hurricane.

Two articles on Hurricane Eight
Question, why are there two articles on Hurricane Eight? See here
1991 unnamed hurricane and
1991 Perfect Storm. There should be no reason to have two articles on the same cyclone. --
12george1 (

I see what your thinking. The 1991 Perfect Storm article seems to be about the same storm just with a little more details, such as impact, fatalities, and damage. But I have to tell you, why is
this picture used for the main picture of both articles? --
12george1 (
talk) 02:26, 3 January 2010 (UTC)reply
Nope, I didn't say that; the Perfect Storm was the nor'easter that preceded the unnamed hurricane, so they're different storms. The infobox picture in the nor'easter article needs to be replaced. –Juliancolton |

"a buoy reported sustained winds of 38 mph (61 km/h) over a period of eight and a half minutes." - something isn't write; 38 mph is not tropical storm force winds.
But, 38 mph over a period of 8.5 minutes does suggest 1-minute sustained winds of tropical storm force. ♫

"minimum pressure of 1007 mbar." - convert 1007 mbar to inHg
I think it's somewhat redundant to include the "hurricane" in there. The scale is widely known as not including the word "hurricane". ♫
Hurricanehink (

You should expand slightly on the impact in Canada; was there also heavy rain and rough seas?
Well, there is a sub-article, and its section is rather long to begin with. I'm assuming you're talking about Bob? ♫

"and a minimum pressure 944 mbar." - convert 944 mbar to inHg
"with winds of 135 mph (217 km/h)" - there is inconsistency between the infobox and what the conversion template show. I would just do it manually and write "135 mph (215 km/h)".
"Erika began a motion to the north and northeast." - I am not seeing any northerly motion. All I see is a northeastward direction.
Well, it had to have gone north at some point if it made a turn to the northeast :P However, I removed the "north" portion. ♫

"Shortly thereafter it passed through the Azores, moving directly over São Miguel Island." - This doesn't flow very well; I would re-word to "Shortly thereafter Erika passed through the Azores, it moved directly over São Miguel Island."
Honestly I like the previous wording better. Yours has two independent clauses in one sentence, unless you meant to include a semicolon, but even that is unnecessary IMO. ♫

Judging by the summary of Fabian, it appears that it started out as a tropical storm and was never a tropical depression.
That is indeed how it was operationally, and it is what the preliminary report suggests. ♫

"including then-President of the United States George Bush's vacation home." - George Bush, which one? George H. W. Bush or George W. Bush?
It says then-President... GWB wasn't president til 2001. ♫

There is no reference to the explanation of what ACE is, nor is there a source for the ACE values of the season.
There usually isn't. So, I copied what was in the 2007 AHS page (a featured season article that has the ACE explanation). ♫

A source is also needed for the storm names and to prove that the name Bob was retired.
Check again for name and date consistency in the references.
And that's what I get for copying refs from other articles. I think I got it though. ♫

Merging timeline
I just noticed there was a timeline article. Given that there weren't many storms co-active, and that the season is featured (and has more info than the timeline), I propose the timeline be merged. --♫
Hurricanehink (

Seeing a lack of opposition, I'm going to go ahead and do it. ♫
Hurricanehink (

Sorry, but I reverted the merger per
WP:BRD. There was no support for the merger, and 1991 AHS did have three storms active at once. Eight storms is info for a timeline in the ATL IMO.

Still, I am going to support the merging of the timeline; I agree with Hink. HurricaneFan25 01:06, 27 September 2011 (UTC)reply
YE, you also
reverted some additions to the main article that were useful. Why is that? --♫
