The Detroit Diesel 8V-71T is a turbocharged version of the 8V-71 (aka 8V-71N), the latter being naturally aspirated. No Detroit Diesel engine has ever been supercharged. The Roots blower on a two-stroke Diesel is a blower, not a supercharger.

Detroit Diesel Series 71
No Detroit Diesel engine has ever been "supercharged." The Roots blower on the engine is a necessary component and does not supercharge the engine. Removed erroneous statement. Also removed irrelevant info about a boat.Tag: references removed
