At the 2006 National Census, its population (as the total of its two constituent villages before the merger) was 308 in 79 households, when it was in the former Buin Miandasht District of
Faridan County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 264 people in 87 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 195 people in 70 households,[2] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Buin Miandasht County and the two villages had merged to become Nowghan.[4]
