dominosfranchise.in

Deceptive site being spammed by at least two accounts. The site is clearly not the actual site - most of what should be links at the bottom aren't. This is not something that should ever be linked on Wikipedia. Ravensfire ( talk) 01:42, 11 June 2021 (UTC) reply

@ RandomCanadian: I see 22 uses in mainspace of conservativewoman.co.uk. — Paleo Neonate – 08:07, 5 June 2021 (UTC) reply
@ PaleoNeonate: I've trimmed some of them. Many seem to be used for attributing the opinions of article subjects writing in that publication. Some where unattributed op-eds which were being used for factual statements and some I've managed to replace with better sources. It might be borderline acceptable in some cases, unsure whether I should strike it out. RandomCanadian ( talk / contribs) 20:31, 5 June 2021 (UTC) reply
Yeah this happens with various unreliable sources. As for the other, it's probably still pending because of the lack of urgency (no apparent currently active spam campaign)... — Paleo Neonate – 11:50, 12 June 2021 (UTC) reply

A user under multiple names Mobileupdates11 ( talk · contribs), Mobileinfo111 ( talk · contribs), and MobilePhones11 ( talk · contribs), has been sneaking a link to this clear commercial site in at inappropriate places, eg: [1]. While the user's activities are so low level to be easily fixed w/o intervention of bots/etc., I see no case where we would ever link to this site, and thus would be reasonable to just blacklist it now, and that might stymy this editor. -- Masem ( t) 19:04, 14 June 2021 (UTC) reply

dan-news.info

Please remove dan-news.info from blacklist. It is not in WP:RSP and the only place it's mentioned on the RS noticeboard is here. There was no discussion and no RfC to black list this data source. This RfC does not mention dan-news.info. While it's not the most reliable source it's the main news agency of Donetsk People's Republic and is useful for its official position and uncontroversial facts. I stumbled on this block when trying to add a source for the structure of exports of the DPR. Alaexis ¿question? 12:16, 14 June 2021 (UTC) reply

Actually I need to correct myself, it does appear on the WP:RSP page, here. Though I still don't see discussion of this media outlet. Alaexis ¿question? 13:50, 16 June 2021 (UTC) reply
@ Alaexis: no Declined,  Defer to Whitelist for specific links on this domain. It is on RSP where it is categorized as fake news. Instead of allowing all it is likely better to discuss specific links. -- Dirk Beetstra T C 04:12, 22 June 2021 (UTC) reply

VettedBiz.com

Sorry, my first time so please excuse any issues and I think I messed up the template?. Happy to edit. User:Hakim242002 has been spamming these two sites as well as other franchising sites extensively together with the founders' LinkedIn pages. I was providing more information on the topic and cited specific pages as sources. Have you checked the links that I had included? I will not cite these websites going forward and will focus on other websites for content I create and edit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Findango ( talkcontribs)
@ Findango: my apologies, my reason for listing the users here is purely to see how others use it. I noticed from one editor that it was good faith use, I now get the feeling that that is true for you as well. Would you mind commenting on these sites as reliable sources (see WP:RS (though even with that, the spamming seems worrysome)? No worries, they produce quality franchise content in the same league as other top franchise focused sites like https://www.franchisechatter.com/, https://www.franchisegator.com/, https://www.franchisetimes.com/ and https://www.franchisedirect.com/. It's hard to get reliable sources for franchise information. Perhaps, I will start referencing directly the franchise disclosure document for franchises I provide content on.
Thank you @ Beetstra:. Is there an easy tutorial on how to proceed next? New area for me. Findango has some interesting overlap with Hakim24002 but not so much I think they're socks. Star Mississippi 13:28, 22 June 2021 (UTC) reply
@ Star Mississippi: tutorial, no. I see Hakim242002 is blocked, and there have not been additions after that block by other accounts. Sometimes the message gets through that their links are not wanted, but as soon as we see more spam additions (not GF ones), one of the regulars is happy to pull the trigger. Seen Findango and Ibbrranti Ennamdis there seems to be good faith use of these sites .. -- Dirk Beetstra T C 15:18, 22 June 2021 (UTC) reply
Thanks @ Beetstra:, I'll keep an eye on Hakim's edit once he's unblocked as he returned to the same pattern after the first block. Star Mississippi 15:57, 22 June 2021 (UTC) reply

waddensea-worldheritage.org

I cannot find it in the list, but I think it's accidentally triggered by: \bworldheritage\.org\b

It's causing issues editing the Wadden Sea article, because it contains many existing links to this site and it trips all the time, but when I open the links, they seem perfectly legitimate and the site seems to be supported by all sorts of government agencies and such.

One way to fix it, assuming our regex engine uses the same syntax as JavaScript, would be to change it to: [^-]\bworldheritage\.org\b

I've tested this using the JavaScript console of my browser:

[/\bworldheritage\.org\b/,/[^-]\bworldheritage\.org\b/].map(x=>x.test('
https://waddensea-world@@@REMOVE THIS@@@heritage.org'))
Array [ true, false ]
[/\bworldheritage\.org\b/,/[^-]\bworldheritage\.org\b/].map(x=>x.test('
https://world@@@REMOVE THIS@@@heritage.org'))
Array [ true, true ]

So this would fix the problem, while still keeping worldheritage.org links blocked.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.61.180.106 ( talkcontribs)
