At Cerium nitrate, I visited a link and my browser said "... Google Safe Browsing recently detected phishing on www.general-ebooks.com. Phishing sites pretend to be other websites to trick you. ..." That prompted me to replace 2 links to http://www.general-ebooks.com/get/3651357 with https://archive.org/details/chemischekrystal02grotuoft/page/n3 (diff). Linksearch tool lists 7 uses on en (mostly non-article); Google listed some on other-language Wikipedias. One of the links to general-ebooks.com was added in 2014 (diff). Indonesian blog spam

Blogs have been spammed by multiple dynamic IPs and are apparently all maintained by the same - probably Indonesian - spammer. Multiple warnings given and ignored (see especially http spam link warnings for dapurocha.com). Please blacklist the whole bunch - no encyclopedic usage. This is a conspiracy theories website usually used to promote the chemtrails conspiracy theory. I tried to update the bot report but it hasn't yet; more recent uses occurred recently: Special:Contributions/Soniaprods. The only currently legitimate use is as a non-link at California drought manipulation conspiracy theory because someone affiliated with the site made the news. Here too the COIBot report didn't update (I'm wondering if it's still working). But there's an older report already showing spamming by multiple IP addresses, including some cross-wiki. This is the website of a ministry that's been used to proselytize (or promote the site) at multiple articles by adherents. However, there's one legitimate use for it at Eastern Lightning where it's already linked as the official site. Detected via recent Special:Contributions/221.167.217.241. @ PaleoNeonate: this was certainly spammed here on en.wikipedia (seen the edits, and the 'selection' of editors: very low number of regulars in the list). There is some cross-wiki concern, though that seems all yet to involve named editors. Hello. I don't know if I am discussing it in the right place, so I apologize in advance. I wanted to add info on various pages from this source: ( http://www.)tt-group.net/video/najbolje-beogradske-kafane/. I received an error notice saying that "tt-group.net" triggered a protection filter and that site is registered on Wikipedia's blacklist. Though the linked page doesn't seem either as a spam or an advertisement (it deals with the famous Belgrade's historical kafanas which are today almost all closed), if this site is indeed blacklisted, I have no intention to ask for its delisting, as I know nothing about the site to defend it. However, I wanted to check this: if this is the correct list [5], there is no "tt-group.net" listed, but there is "btt-group.net" on the list. This is India's official government website for census information. The website is very important for citing accurate reliable information for India topics. It is not spam. Please remove.   • This was part of a big batch of recent additions. I did try to raise an objection, but it seems to have been ignored. These sites are not official sites of the Indian government, they're created and maintained by private individuals who've repackaged the census data. They probably aren't reliable, so their use in articles should be discouraged in favour of the actual official sources. However, they are not spam and should not be blacklisted. The first one at least also has a legitimate use in talk page discussions having to do with article names or disambiguation – it allows you to perform a search for all villages with a given name and link to that search, and as far as I know there's no easy way to do that on the official census website. – Uanfala (talk) 11:43, 4 June 2019 (UTC) reply

@ NagalimNE and Uanfala: as far as I understand, they were all scrapers, and all the scrapers were deemed unreliable. All info is available from the official census pages. People kept cleaning up despite of XLinkBot. Uanfula, you seem to agree to that evaluation.

I agree that they may not be spam (but it is long recognised that 'Spam blacklist' is a misnomer just like 'AbuseFilter'), however, if an RSN clearly concludes that some site is unreliable and that the constant cleanup is a burden to our editors (moving the point of reference to the official site, including having to repair the unreliable (wrong) data) then we blacklist.   • Would you elaborate on the Xlinkbot bit? I don't know how these things work, but a bot to tag all citations to the site with {{ better source}} is in my opinion an appropriate action. Yes, the site should be avoided, but I wouldn't go as far as calling it wrong (the only time anyone pointed out an alleged error, it turned out it was the editor, not the site, that was mistaken). I understand that the spamblacklist is not only for spam, but there is a wide spectrum between avoiding certain websites whenever possible and completely hard-coding them out of the encyclopedia. Again, census2011.co.in has legitimate uses outside mainspace: there isn't a way as far as I'm aware of using the official sources to find out for example whether there are several settlements with the same name in the whole country (which is relevant in RM discussions). – Uanfala (talk) 13:12, 22 June 2019 (UTC) reply
    • XLinkBot reverts additions and leaves a warning. That was tono avail. Tagging is not an option, that requires a significant manpower to resolve, and basically that was what people complained about: too much of this needed to be replaced or removed.
The spam blacklist is black and white. It should have been upgraded years ago, Vote next time when I again try to convince WMF that that is long due

This website is the subject of the English Wikipedia article at /b/ and consequently, there should be a single link to it in the "external links" section at the bottom of the article.

I just split this article from 4chan, the parent platform of this media channel. Note that 4chan and /b/ have a long history of conflict with English Wikipedia. This link is blacklisted because of vandalism which anyone might have done in the name of /b/.
