ecclegen.com blacklist removal request.

Dear Wikipedia community, I am requesting that the website www.ecclegen.com be removed from the blacklist. The website is a reliable collection of information collated from primary sources (books, minutes of the Free Church of Scotland, etc) in relation to historical records about the Free Church of Scotland in the period 1843 to 1900. The site has proved to be reliable and maintained and is useful for reference to help provide an cross reference between a number of different source materials. Reading through the archives, it appears the site was blacklisted due to one user's behaviour, and I see no reason why the site itself should be blacklisted. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by WikipediaRLN ( talkcontribs) 16:10, 2 January 2023 (UTC) reply

Original discussion: MediaWiki_talk:Spam-blacklist/archives/December_2018#ecclegen.com. Not a lot of context to the BL entry. I think removal would be okay. GeneralNotability ( talk) 00:59, 3 January 2023 (UTC) reply

census2011.co.in

census2011.co.in: Linksearch en (insource) - meta - de - fr - simple - wikt:en - wikt:frMER-C X-wikigs • Reports: Links on en - COIBot - COIBot-Local • Discussions: tracked - advanced - RSN • COIBot- Link, Local, & XWiki Reports - Wikipedia: en - fr - de • Google: searchmeta • Domain: domaintoolsAboutUs.com This has been declined before, but the situation has changed somewhat. The official Census of India site ( [1]) has been basically dead for something like 18 months now. On the off chance that it decides to work (95% of the time it does not even load), the search function often does not work, and when it does, the site does not permit linking directly to individual census entries the way it used to. All of this makes the official site effectively a dead link and useless as a reference. The 2021 Census of India has been delayed numerous times because of COVID. Currently it's set for October 2023 but there's no reason to think it won't be delayed further than that. It could be years before new official census data is live.

Census2011.co.in is an accurate mirror that uses data taken from the original 2011 census. I have been working on obscure Indian villages for several years now and never found a discrepancy between Census2011.co.in and the official data (when it was available). It has the added advantage of being far better organized and interlinked (most importantly, you can link to a list of villages in a tehsil or district, a function the official census does not provide).

Long story short, it would be very helpful to me and anyone else working in obscure Indian villages to be able to use this site, given that the official site is defunct and there is no timeline on a replacement. ♠ PMC(talk) 20:51, 10 January 2023 (UTC) reply

I think it should not be on the blacklist, it is not spamming for a new P2P finance blog as it states in the comment back in January 2019. A lot has happened to the website since 2019 and it has over 30 business partners whom it displays monthly updated funding statistics for. The link can be useful to Wikipedia in regard to statistics on lending-based crowdfunding websites. I think the reported spamming to wikipedia was because of not using wikipedia properly.

  • no Declined We certainly don't remove sites from the blacklist on the request of one of the editors spamming it in the first place. Please promote your site elsewhere. OhNoitsJamie Talk 18:54, 12 January 2023 (UTC) reply

I am not intending on promoting the site on Wikipedia, but it would be great if other people were allowed to use the website as a source on Wikipedia, because it is useful to Wikipedia. I strongly believe that it is wrongfully blacklisted now in 2023 compared to when it was in January 2019 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Martin Schmidt Christensen ( talkcontribs) 19:02, 12 January 2023 (UTC) reply

You just triggerred the blacklist filter a few days ago. You're very close to being blocked as a single-purpose spam account. If you'd like to continue editing Wikipedia, I'd suggest you find something else to edit about besides your website. OhNoitsJamie Talk 19:09, 12 January 2023 (UTC) reply
That is very possible. It was just a few days ago I realized that the site had been blocked from Wikipedia. I am not sure what happened back in 2019, but will you kindly take a look at the website as a source of information for Wikipedia? I will not edit about anything related to P2PMarketData again. And thank you, I will consider to become an active editor on wikipedia. Martin Schmidt Christensen ( talk) 19:12, 12 January 2023 (UTC) reply
Kindly move on before you get yourself blocked. OhNoitsJamie Talk 19:13, 12 January 2023 (UTC) reply
Dear Jamie, I am not sure what state of mind you are in but I am not interested in being blocked on wikipedia but if you need to do that according to your guidelines it will have to be so.
I am here to kindly ask you to look at the website in question and not my actions on wikipedia as a single account and consider whether it should be generally on blocked wikipedia because I as one single account made mistakes submitting wrongfully link to the site. The site in question is a truthful source of information that should be available for people using this multilingual free online encyclopedia. I will not be editing with a link to p2pmarketdata.com again but I hope that you will remove the site as blacklisted so that other people with better understanding of Wikipedia can do so.
Have a good evening.
Best regards,

Everything .online is blacklisted?

I was trying to leave some curatorial notes for Talk:Elisabeth Brauss and triggered this blacklist event:

"The following link has triggered a protection filter: .online/2021/11/26/elisabeth-brauss-pianist/ Either that exact link, or a portion of it (typically the root domain name) is currently blocked."

The full link I was trying to insert was:

https://meettheartist. online/2021/11/26/elisabeth-brauss-pianist/

(Remove the space in the middle to access the website)

The blacklist entry doesn't seem to concern this specific website, but rather it appeared to match everything hosted on a .online domain name. Is that the intention, or was there a blacklist misfire somewhere? (Please ping on reply, thanks) Deryck C. 17:37, 16 January 2023 (UTC) reply

Site is a blog/scraper site that's been pushed by at least two accounts so far. The most recent, Ritesh9039, has responded aggressively on my talk page and their last post I will be providing you with a housands of links like this, so just go and disavow all the link, will it will be alright pushes this into an early request here. The site also appears to be lifting content from other sites (see www.trendsetterlive.com/news/supreme-court-slams-ekta-kapoor-for-xxx-web-series-says-you-are-polluting-minds-of-the-young-generation-of-this-country/35841/ vs [2] so copyright is also an issue. 1) This is blacklisted globally, not just on enwiki and 2) we don't typically remove things from the site owners and/or people who were involved in the spamming in the first place. - MrOllie ( talk) 15:05, 21 January 2023 (UTC) reply
