This has a wikipedia article on en, fr and de, and I tried to add a link to the official page, but got rejected, because it is on a blacklist. I could find a short discussion about it, but there was no reason given why it should be on a blacklist, except for "I have seen this url for the past few days": [1] I read a few articles on that page and it seems to very similar to RationalWiki. Any reason why this should be on a blacklist? Otherwise, could we please remove it? Thanks. Bonomont ( talk) 14:53, 9 November 2016 (UTC) reply

Wait, that's it? You don't react for 12 days and then there is just a "verdict"? We don't get to discuss? You don't explain things? Doesn't sound very open to me. I might have some additional arguments! Also, what do you mean b "JzG"? I can't find any meaningful explanation at all of wikipedia... This is a joke, right? Am I the unwitting participant of "1984 the alternate reality game on wikipedia"? Bonomont ( talk) 19:43, 23 November 2016 (UTC) reply
We're all volunteers here, that's just how it is. Psiram is a grossly unreliable source and not usable for anything on Wikipedia, so a whitelisted single link for the About page is the appropriate way f allowing a link to the site on an article about it. Blogspot links are a plague on the project. Guy ( Help!) 11:55, 1 December 2016 (UTC) reply

Those should be on both revertlists, indeed. -- Dirk Beetstra T C 14:40, 1 December 2016 (UTC) reply

roleplay.co.uk

roleplay.co.uk is an unremarkable private discussion forum for role-playing that keeps getting added to the lead of the Role-playing article, on 13 October 2016, 20 October 2016, 30 October 2016, and 12 December 2016. I've explained why the link is not appropriate on the article Talk page but they won't talk. I'd rather not edit war to remove the link, for obvious reasons. Because different IPs have added the link intermittently over the course of two months, communicating on their Talk pages would be difficult. About a third of the overall article contributions are from anonymous editors, which makes article protection a bad option, and blocking an IP range will likely affect a number of editors. Another anonymous editor reverted the link here, so it's not simply me versus them. Woodroar ( talk) 00:54, 13 December 2016 (UTC) reply

[14] [15] [16] [17] [18] [19] I've indeffed both accounts, but the domain should probably be added to the blacklist to suppress temptation. Cyphoidbomb ( talk) 16:27, 16 December 2016 (UTC) reply

freemahj.com

Spammed every few days on the Mahjong article from dynamic IPs. Carelessly, too, they often break links or screw up references. Page protection isn't good enough because they sometimes hit random other pages, such as Super Street Fighter II, Microcosm (video game), or Talk:List of Family Computer games - MrOllie ( talk) 20:00, 21 December 2016 (UTC) reply

I have been going through the site mapsofworld.com and found it quite useful as it gives free to download maps which can be printed and can be used by my son (useful for kids as a whole) to color and to know country locations, remember their names as well as state names of different countries. I thought as this is helpful this should be listed in Wikipedia too so that more people can use it. But while checking for it noticed that it was blacklisted about 8-9 years ago for spamming. In the present context the site does not seem to be a spamming source as it is ranking in google and providing useful info to the users.

@ Nitsnitz: you asked this question some time ago, and were replied (hours later) that another (clear SEO) account just asked that ( here) less than a day before you did. That is too much of a coincidence. no Declined, and I start to think that this should go on a long term spamming list to document all these requests. User:Kuru summed it up quite nicely in the mentioned post: .. it looks poor quality and just covered with ads for services. Reliable alternatives should not be difficult to find.. -- Dirk Beetstra T C 13:05, 21 December 2016 (UTC) reply

We do agree that the site’s earning source is Ads but the information provided there is from authentic sources. Credits are given to Government sources on pages where the data is sourced from them. It is also agreed that the request from an SEO account should not have been done and it was over-enthusiasm on part of the company hired for rank maintenance. But this is also true that this is a free resource for people to download maps (blank maps are downloaded most which kids can color after printing for their projects). Nitsnitz ( talk) 05:50, 22 December 2016 (UTC) reply

@ Nitsnitz: "Credits are given to Government sources on pages where the data is sourced from then" - then Wikipedia can use the Government sources themselves, we do not need a page that is pushed (per "the company hired for rank maintenance" - it is clear that mapsofworld is still actively trying to improve their ranking). And "it was over-enthusiasm on part of the company hired for rank maintenance" .. how do you know that it was over-enthusiasm by them. The way you write this sentence suggests that you are aware of communication between mapsofworld.com and the SEO company that was hired for rank maintenance. -- Dirk Beetstra T C 05:56, 22 December 2016 (UTC) reply
