Description
English: On this day, the House Savings and Construction Act of 1996. They also took up H.R. 3564, The NATO Enlargement Facilitation Act, which would allow membership in NATO of some eastern European nations that recently were liberated from the influence of the former Soviet Union and the communists' ideologies that were prevalent in the governments of the eastern bloc. The House also considered spending bills for Commerce, Justice, and State Departments.
