In 2014 Rinchem acquired Chimei Logistics Corporation which included at 36,000 sq. ft. distribution facility located near Tainan Science Park and within 50 miles of the Port of Kaohsiung, the largest port in Taiwan. ^[8] The acquisition also included the transfer of employees, a ground transportation fleet, freight forwarding assets, logistics information systems and over 193,000 square feet of property.

Warehousing

Rinchem warehouses specialize in storing hazardous chemicals and dangerous goods. These warehouses store multiple hazard classes and have separate rooms for flammable, corrosive, oxidizing, and temperature-controlled materials. Many Rinchem warehouses also have gas pads for the storage of gas cylinders and ISO tank storage yards.

ISO Yard

Rinchem currently has 9 ISO storage locations globally. Rinchem offers ISO tank storage solutions and their facilities are equipped with temperature and pressure controls, and they offer real-time monitoring for proper safety and regulatory compliance.

Transportation

Rinchem provides final mile delivery and over-the-road transportation. They are a national bonded carrier for transportation and maintain a fleet of tractors and trailers. Rinchem has two transportation subsidiaries, CGL Transport which was launched in 2011 and based in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Carolina Tank Lines, which was acquired in 2019 and is based in Burlington, North Carolina. ^[10]

Rinchem acquired JS Transport in Taiwan in 2017 and sold the business in 2023. ^[11]

Freight Forwarding

Rinchem provides air and ocean freight services with a network spanning many regions including North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East. Rinchem offers freight forwarding solutions and supply chain services that include ocean, air, and inland transportation to and from the appropriate destination, preparation of freight documentation, warehousing and other storage facility services, consolidation and deconsolidation, cargo insurance, and custom compliance solutions. In 2022 Rinchem employed 957 individuals. 213 of those employees were truck drivers.

Safety

Due to the dangerous nature of the materials Rinchem manages they comply with federal, state, and local laws and work with DHS, DOT, EPA, and OSHA. The Rinchem Quality Management System is ISO 9001:2015 certified.

Rinchem follows the OSHA standard 1904 when recording and reporting statistics on work-related injuries. The TCIR (Total Case Incident Rate) rate for 2022 was 1.26 compared to an industry average of 4.8. ^[12]

In 2022 Rinchem began using Samsara in its transportation divisions which uses AI dash cameras to monitor real-time incident detections, driver preventative coaching, and worker safety scores. ^[13]

In 2023 Rinchem began using OneTrack.AI on its fleet of forklifts to detect, record, and prevent risky behaviors and accidents.

Rinchem reported a total CO23 emissions (scope 1 and scope 2) for 2022 at 50787.12 metric tons.

Stonepeak

In early 2022 Stonepeak, an investment firm specializing in infrastructure and real assets, announced it entered into an agreement to acquire Rinchem. ^[14]"Stonepeak has significant experience investing in specialty transport and logistics businesses where we see powerful thematic tailwinds, and we anticipate that our investment in Rinchem will be another great example," said Luke Taylor, Stonepeak Senior Managing Director and Co-Head of the Americas. ^[15]
