Early Life & Family

Abraham Ahmad Khan Qureshi, also known as Abraham Qureshi, was born in London on October 12, 1998. In 2010, he moved to Bangladesh due to the passing of his grandfather and settled there permanently. Abraham belongs to the Pathan tribe, originally from Khaybar Pakhtoonkhwa (now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), with his ancestry tracing back to Pakistan before the partition.

Abraham aspired to serve in the Bangladesh Army and successfully passed the ISSB (Inter Services Selection Board) to become a commissioned officer. However, despite his selection, his mother opposed his wearing of the military uniform, which led to Abraham deciding not to attend the Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA) and thus missing out on the opportunity to serve in the army.

He attempted to join the 69th BMA Long Course, but while many of his friends from ISSB who were selected are now serving as Majors or Lieutenant Colonels in the army, Abraham pursued a different path.

Abraham's family background is marked by notable achievements and service. His grandmother, a distinguished neurologist, completed her MBBS and MS from Dow Medical College. She commenced her medical career by joining the Pakistan Army Medical Corps as a Captain in 1960. Following the partition of East and West Pakistan, she was selected by the Bangladesh government and served in the Bangladesh Army, rising to the rank of Colonel and later retiring as a Brigadier General in 1996. She made history as the first female officer to attain the rank of Brigadier in the Bangladesh Army, notable for her leadership in the Neurology Department at Dhaka CMH.

Abraham's father is a Barrister with qualifications from Dhaka University, where he obtained his LLB and LLM degrees. He furthered his legal education by pursuing Bar-at-law in London in 1990 from University of London.

Abraham Qureshi 's heritage and family legacy reflect a rich tapestry of academic and professional achievements, with a strong commitment to service and excellence within the realms of law, medicine, and military service in Bangladesh.
