The Frisian Islands are an archipelago of the North Sea, consisting of islands located off the coast of Frisia. The area between the islands and the coast is known as the Wadden Sea, so the terms Wadden Islands or Wadden Sea Islands are synonymous. The archipelago is politically divided among the countries of Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands.
