"Always on the Run" is a song by German singer-songwriter Isaak, released on 19 January 2024 through Good Kid Records and Polydor Records. Self-described as an insight into the singer's "conflicting" mind through a "powerful sound" paired with "calm moments", [2] it is set to represent Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024.
On 16 February 2024, Guderian performed at the German national final event for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 alongside eight other contestants. [3] Ahead of his performance, the singer had not been favoured as a contestant. [1] The ballot was evenly divided in viewer voting and the assessment by an international jury, both of which assigned him with the maximum 12 points, for a total of 24 points, 4 ahead of runner-up Max Mutzke. [4]
Shortly after the national final, it was announced that the word "shit" in the song's lyrics would be changed, as required by the contest's regulations prohibiting vulgar language. [5]
