American college football season
The 1972 Jackson State Tigers football team represented
Jackson State University as a member of the
Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) during the
1972 NCAA College Division football season. Led by second-year head coach
Robert Hill, the Tigers compiled an overall record of 8–3, with a conference record of 5–1, and finished as SWAC co-champion.
