It would seem that List of U.S. state folk dances is an exercise in overenthusiastic pigeonholing. The content can easily be held & maintained in List of U.S. state dances instead. -- 63.224.135.113 ( talk) 05:53, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
I'm not finding any refs on "Salty Dog Rag" and "The Praire Hop" being officially recognized state dances for New Hampshire and South Dakota, respectively. -- 208.81.184.4 ( talk) 01:11, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
The overwhelming majority of the states that have an official dance, and almost half the states overall, have square dancing as their state dance. That seems to indicate a poverty of imagination on somebody's part.
