Why "stub class"?

What more is there to say about this song? Wasted Time R 14:24, 15 August 2006 (UTC) reply

Not the same as "Wait"

There's a significant distinction between this track and "Wait" in that "Hold Me Tight" was completely re-recorded for the second album, whereas "Wait" had the same basic track and only received some overdubs. As such, the text is misleading about the relationship between the two songs. I hope to see this changed, and if not, I guess I'll do something myself! MicroProf 21:45, 29 September 2007 (UTC) reply

Okay, I see a change has been made, but let me raise another set of objections: what about "One After 909," first attempted in 1963 and held over until 1969? What about "Only a Northern Song," recorded with the intention of being on "Sgt. Pepper's" but held over until "Yellow Submarine" (this is exactly the same as "Wait," except different albums)? And how would one consider the stickier situation of songs rehearsed during the "Let It Be" sessions that were held over until "Abbey Road," like "She Came In Through the Bathroom Window" (i.e. the absolutely complete version now on "Anthology 3") as one of probably several examples? I don't think it's reasonable to say that "Wait" and "Hold Me Tight" constitute a special pair, and I think the entire matter should be wiped from the page. I apologize for not having been more straightforward before. But I would like to hear a counterargument before I do this. MicroProf 00:49, 10 October 2007 (UTC) reply

I think the reason that both of these songs get special mention is because authors such as Lewisohn and MacDonald single them out. I suppose they both must have come pretty close to inclusion on the previous albums. Mind you, we’re talking UK (Parlophone) here. The Beatles and George Martin had no say in America where Capitol would hold back tracks turning two albums into three. I take your point however, and perhaps it should just say that “Hold Me Tight” had been attempted before and leave out the bit regarding “Wait”?-- Patthedog 08:11, 10 October 2007 (UTC) reply
I'm not talking about US albums either. I think the solution you offer is a good one. Thanks for responding! MicroProf 23:29, 10 October 2007 (UTC) reply
