This is a great addition to the project. I have season tickets to the Calgary Flames and occasionally take pictures at the games. To see some of the ones I have taken and put on Wikipedia, check out my Commons page. Just let me know if you want me to get a pic of someone that will be playing in Calgary. AWESOME photos, thanks a lot. Great if you have more of other Avs players. These photos are really great. I want to apologize for what the Avs have been doing with the Flames. I mean, coming back in two games the way they did, 4-0 and this one, with half the shots and getting the win 27 seconds into overtime. - This might be a long shot, but the Rangers are in Calgary on Jan 2, and I'm currently trying to get images of the following players: Gomez (19), Drury (23), Staal (18), Tyutin (51), and Straka (82). if you remember that'd be great, and if I get any of these before then I'll let you know.

- It should be no problem to take my camera to the Rangers game. I can't promise getting good pics of all of those players. I seem to get at most about half a dozen good pictures (e.g. the
Theodore pic) and another half dozen usable pics from a warmup (e.g.
this pic of Stastny, which was cropped out of pic with Sakic). If I stay on the Rangers side for the entire warmup, I should get at least a usable image of most of those players. As for the Avalanche beating the Flames, I would much rather it be like those two losses than most any other loss. Bad luck, outplaying the opponent, and still getting an OT pity point. If they keep playing like that, the wins will keep coming. --

- Okie dokie. I have uploaded my best pictures of the players you requested. I missed the first bit of the warmup. Drury and Straka were already off the ice, so I had to get game pictures of them. I did get an action shot that included three of your requested players: Gomez, Staal, & Straka. The best shots of the individuals requested are: Scott Gomez, Marc Staal, Fedor Tyutin, Martin Straka, & Chris Drury. - Nice image of Theodore! Yesterday I took a day trip to Borås to "cover" (I had press credentials and everything!) the Borås HC vs. Leksands IF game. As probably everyone has heard, Ed Belfour signed with Leksand, a swedish tier-II team, this summer. Unfortunately The Eagle wasn't playing, he wasn't even on the bench so I didn't get a picture of him (for wikipedia, which I had hoped...). Though I did get some really good images of a couple of 2007 drafties, but I hope I can sell those images so I won't upload them here. Sorry. -- Krm500 00:11, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

I didn't really focus on taking pictures of any particular players, but I'll check to see what I got. Hopefully, I'll have some time on Sunday to do it. - It won't pass a flickr-commons transfer because it's still set as noncommercial, it was also just deleted on here because of the same reason. Permission is great, but this tends to happen..

My apologies for asking this question if it is stupid; I am inexperienced with the image aspect of Wikipedia. Is it kosher to go onto flickr and take photos to place on Wikipedia? They are non-commercial, public photographs, are they not? Or, do I need to contact the image creators for permission before using them? I'd like to add photos to a lot of Buffalo Sabre articles, and I've found a few nice ones on flickr. Please advise. Skudrafan1 20:56, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
- Each photo on flickr has a different license. You will want to look for the creative commons license which will be underneath the image, any that are either
, or
are OK to use on Wiki. You should upload them to
Commons so they can be used on all wikis. Also it is probably more efficient to search amongst only commercially allowed images, like

How about either renaming this article (To simply "Images") and implement a "New images" section or create a separate article? We have the New articles page so why not one for images? I think it's a good idea since images of players can be used on more then just the players articles. We'll be getting some new images since two Flickr users who I've been talking to has been kind enough to license their hockey images with Creative Commons. -- Krm500 ( talk) 19:12, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Hi, was I on a visit in Toronto and took some photos at the Legends Classic game. I am uploading them at commons, I hope I get them all in today. I am busy with taking them in the German wiki, I hope you will like them and som may find their way in the en wiki. Steve Shutt, Larry Robinson, Kirk Muller, Paul Coffey, Billy Smith, Tiger Williams and a lot more. Check it out. I also added some Players from WSH @ NJ last weekend. Enjoy it.
