Merge proposal

I have proposed to merge this wikiproject and 12 others to a new wikiproject. Please see the proposal. IRWolfie- ( talk) 19:40, 11 September 2013 (UTC) reply

Response

Thanks for the offer, IRWolfie. Why don't you just join our page? We would be unwilling to join a project called "Fringe" because that's exactly what we are trying to avoid; being considered a fringe subject. Our goal is to develop evidence based integrative health practices such as Tai Chi and Qigong and gain credibility within the medical community. Nonetheless, I understand the thought process and we appreciate your consideration.
I did go to the proposal page and remove our page from the list under consideration - both for the reason mentioned above and because the statement that we never got off the ground was not actually accurate. We've been working together on this Wikiproject for many months, but we've been meeting off-line and talking about it. I am just now trying to get the rest to add themselves as participants rather than just have a core group of 3 or 4 of us making all the changes (as we have been doing) and working through this first phase, which is to identify all the pages that we would like to consider related in some way to Mind-Body Practices, especially when related to Qigong.
Again, thanks for the thought. You are truly kind to think of us.

This proposal that WP:WikiProject Skepticism take over any group associated with anything that they're skeptical of is ongoing. It might be helpful to register your opposition at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject Council#Merging projects - Another proposal.
I think that this particular proposal is a bad idea, but unifying several of the AltMed projects might be helpful. If you're interested, perhaps this could become a WikiProject Task force of WP:WikiProject Alternative Medicine. We did that a couple of years ago at WP:MED with projects like WP:WikiProject Neurology. That might stop some of these "I'm going to take you over" proposals, while still keeping a separate page and a fair degree of independence. WhatamIdoing ( talk) 17:49, 19 December 2013 (UTC) reply

Oil cleansing method

Asking here because I'm not sure where else this is appropriate. I've nominated the oil cleansing method article for deletion. The discussion may be found here. I would appreciate your input on the issue! - Sweet Nightmares 21:13, 2 December 2013 (UTC) reply

Leaflet for Wikiproject Mind-Body at Wikimania 2014

Hi all,

My name is Adi Khajuria and I am helping out with Wikimania 2014 in London.

One of our initiatives is to create leaflets to increase the discoverability of various wikimedia projects, and showcase the breadth of activity within wikimedia. Any kind of project can have a physical paper leaflet designed - for free - as a tool to help recruit new contributors. These leaflets will be printed at Wikimania 2014, and the designs can be re-used in the future at other events and locations.

This is particularly aimed at highlighting less discoverable but successful projects, e.g:

• Active Wikiprojects: Wikiproject Medicine, WikiProject Video Games, Wikiproject Film

• Tech projects/Tools, which may be looking for either users or developers.

• Less known major projects: Wikinews, Wikidata, Wikivoyage, etc.

• Wiki Loves Parliaments, Wiki Loves Monuments, Wiki Loves ____

• Wikimedia thematic organisations, Wikiwomen’s Collaborative, The Signpost

The deadline for submissions is 1st July 2014

For more information or to sign up for one for your project, go to:

Comment on the WikiProject X proposal

Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej ( talk) 22:47, 1 October 2014 (UTC) reply

WikiProject X is live!

Hello everyone!

You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.

RFC on sports notability

An RFC has recently been started regarding a potential change to the notability guidelines for sportspeople. Please join in the conversation. Thank you. Primefac ( talk) 23:08, 5 May 2017 (UTC) reply

A new newsletter directory is out!

A new Newsletter directory has been created to replace the old, out-of-date one. If your WikiProject and its taskforces have newsletters (even inactive ones), or if you know of a missing newsletter (including from sister projects like WikiSpecies), please include it in the directory! The template can be a bit tricky, so if you need help, just post the newsletter on the template's talk page and someone will add it for you.

Alexander Technique wiki

Hello,

I believe the AT wiki should be designated part of this wikiproject. I have tried to make this case to the current frequent editors of the wiki but it has been targeted by wikiproject skepticism and I can't make any changes and need help keeping the page from becoming a skeptic's editorialized wiki; much of it is directly quoted from a skeptic's book on the topic: see the section of the talk page titled: Edzard Ernst's influence on this article and editors. Thanks!
