Why it shouldn’t be deleted

I think Tater Tot has impacted internet culture in a significant manner as to justify having a page where people can learn about the cat and about its struggles with deformities. I think Wikipedia is an appropriate site where people can learn about the cat and it’s struggles and it’s impact on the animal rescue community. 188.236.132.134 ( talk) 22:05, 1 September 2023 (UTC) reply

Tater tot was an important part of bringing attention to foster animals with disabilities. He was loved globally and inspired many people with disabilities themselves to keep going even if out of spite. I believe Tater Tot deserves to have this accomplishment continue to be documented on this site. He was so important to so many people when he was alive and continues to give people hope even when he’s no longer here. 166.181.82.171 ( talk) 12:54, 12 September 2023 (UTC) reply

People bonded over his strength, and even when grieving, we came together. Deleting this article would be doing an injustice to all the special needs kitties who came after. The world has ignored special needs kitties for years, Tater tot finally gave them the light and recognition they deserve. 2600:8805:D59F:9000:7D3A:3725:D8D2:A750 ( talk) 13:39, 12 September 2023 (UTC) reply

A better option than deleting

Tater tot has had an important business impact world of cat rescues. Will be self is no longer with us to make news, the community is still making waves in his name by highlighting the issues of additional rescues in the problem is that rescue kittens have auggie wisp and others who are now followed may not deserve their own page but I think the impact of tater tot does and if anything these others examples that have gained minor notoriety around him could be included under a topic with his heading.

Essentially his story is the first domino who's effects are being felt and some of that credit goes to the rescuer herself, but overall I think the rippling effects have some sort of impact on a solid argument for keeping the page active in one way or another on its own. 2600:1008:A121:2365:812D:B906:51F9:6FBC ( talk) 15:57, 12 September 2023 (UTC) reply

Keep or Merge

  • Keep or Merge Tater Tot has become a symbol, not only for the phrase "Keep going out of spite" but also for needy fosters and special needs animals. Awareness grew due to his popularity and a lot of money has been raised because of this "internet fad." He was featured on news segments and could even be a successor to Tardar Sauce (aka Grmpy Cat). He could additionally be merged with pages for Grumpy Cat, or even a new page for special needs internet celebrity cats who have made an impact on awareness for special needs fosters like Wisp, Fotis, Baby Bird, and Auggie. The amount of money these cats have raised for animal sanctuaries is nothing to be dismissed as an "internet fad." 68.15.118.197 ( talk) 18:01, 12 September 2023 (UTC)AarieBee reply

Tater Tot united more people in a short time frame than any other event I can recall in the last two decades. I respectfully request Wikipedia keep this page active, or at least merge it with an already existing page detailing some of the internet’s most famous cats. Gatekeeping A Dead Kitten, Are We?

I didn't know that we were gatekeeping knowledge, events, people and things on Wikipedia. JFC, people would gatekeep a godd*mn McDonald's if they could.

This isn't Brittanica or Columbia, Wikipedia was never meant to be. It was supposed to also include an assortment of things that encyclopedias like Brittanica would never even acknowledge. Because of how Wikipedia is managed, it will never be considered a serious scholarly source, so I'm not quite sure why anyone is fighting tooth and nail to keep a dead kitten's story and legacy off of there.

Just....ew. That's so gross and sets off every moral compass alarm I have. This is Wikipedia, sir. Please sit down. This is not the Library of Congress and people need to quit acting like it is with their pearl clutching and gatekeeping.
