Welcome to WikiProject The Rolling Stones, a WikiProject to help organize all the information in Wikipedia related to the The Rolling Stones . This project's focus is to centralize the efforts of many Wikipedians to make Wikipedia the best free resource when it comes to information about the subject. If you are interested in joining please do so.

Goals
  • Improve Wikipedia's coverage of The Rolling Stones.
  • Create guidelines for articles about The Rolling Stones.
  • Watch for vandalism/unexplained content removal.
Scope
  • The project should cover all articles about The Rolling Stones, including their discography, songbook, tours, and films.

Open Tasks

  • Musical evolution: A new section at the bottom of the Stones' main page. We basically need to chart the band's evoltion from their origins to today. As anyone can see the band's history is well covered. This section needs to detail influences on the Stones, differing instrumentations, and even the influence the Stones have had on other muscians.   • Albums: Moved this to the top as I'm going to be spending the next few days expanding the articles on the Stones' album. Many are completely unsourced and quite honestly short and insignificant. Started with Goats Head Soup and plan on bouncing around to whatever article "moves me," in the words of Keef. Former members and associates

  • The Bill Wyman article has been virtually ignored. I can supply more images for his article, but am unwilling to do so until the text has been expanded there-- I mean, look at the Mick Jagger article..   • Mick Taylor has had a multiple cleanup tag on his article for years. We are adding text but slowly, and it is in real desperate need of help.   • Can someone with a copywright please contribute a picture of Mick Taylor to his entry? There's also work to be done on the Taylor entry b/c it's considered by others to be "biased", "undersourced" and "not written enough about".

Mick Jagger article rewrite

@ Stan weller:  Done Article has been rewritten since this task was posted by the looks of it (most likely in part due to the work of this project) has it now has 130 citations, covers his solo career (going by one of the versions of this entry in edit history for that comment). -- TheSandDoctor ( talk) 16:13, 3 April 2017 (UTC) reply

This is a long time ago, so I struggle to retell what the article (or an entry maybe here) said. We are talking years. Basically, it said Mick J. had assistants that would look through what was written on Wikipedia about him or his role in Rolling Stones. If it was negative and he felt that it couldn't easily be proven, he had assistants that would edit it out. V Schauf ( talk) 22:54, 26 July 2017 (UTC) reply

  • Sympathy for the Devil - needs more sources, fewer lists.
  • Memory Motel - add a few more sourced references, details about the possible girls from a source or two, touching on the life on the road quotes, it could be a GA; an underrated song that has lasted. (I stuck the new template on the article's discussion- others are free to use it too.)
