Suspected sockpuppets

  • XT RedZone has already admitted to owning the accounts Muffyogsan ( talk · contribs), Heated Hater ( talk · contribs), Trusted RedZone ( talk · contribs) and Game for Game ( talk · contribs), after which those accounts were blocked. They admitted this after being asked about it by an administrator ( here), but the accounts had already been used in a clearly disruptive manner in this discussion (and possibly others) in an attempt to create illusion of greater support.
  • For a few months now, Gaayhan has edited the same topics and pages (such as Nissan GT-R, Lewis Hamilton etc) as the user who operated those previously mentioned accounts with a very similar editing style. Worryingly, the XT RedZone account has also continued editing the same topics. For some evidence, see this and this diff, where the two accounts added the following identically written line: "Hamilton was the highest-paid Formula One driver from 2019 to 2021, and was ranked as one of the world's highest-paid athletes by Forbes in the last decade and 2021."
  • The user (likely) operating these accounts seems to try to avoid scrutiny by continuing to edit similar pages, often with problematic behaviour, and not clearly disclosing their various accounts, which splits their editing history. They are also concurrently editing with multiple accounts. In fact, in this discussion, there are people already discussing issues in an article heavily edited by the user without realising the issues were (likely) caused mostly by this one person.
  • The accounts have a pattern of getting involved in disputes and edit warring, and even reviving old disputes or trying to evade consensus. For example, they have sneakily changed a header from "Lap times" to "Lap records" here and here (and probably on even more occasions), despite there being clear consensus against it in this discussion. Another example of this sort of behaviour can be seen here. Here, at another page, the user appears to have started a discussion while logged out, and after other editors disagreed with them, joined the discussion with the account Gaayhan without clearly stating they are (likely) the same person. Then they started edit warring on the page with both the Gaayhan and XT RedZone accounts, which is still ongoing with the latter. The talk page histories of these accounts contain numerous warnings about edit warring and other issues: example, example, example, example, and another example. • CheckUser requested - I'm fairly convinced that these two accounts are operated by the same person, but given the unusual history of the master, I am requesting a check to confirm and to look for any others. Bbb23 ( talk) 15:43, 26 March 2023 (UTC) reply

  •  Clerk assistance requested: - I've blocked and tagged the two accounts. I'm not sure if we should do anything with the "abandoned" accounts or the tagging. I'll leave it to a clerk and others to make that decision. Bbb23 ( talk) 21:25, 26 March 2023 (UTC) reply
  • I've tagged the other accounts. Closing. Thanks, Spicy ( talk) 15:45, 27 March 2023 (UTC) reply

This seems like a case of WP:QUACK. The Autoadrenaline account has edited the same pages as the previous accounts, such as Nissan GT-R, Nissan Z (RZ34), Mercedes-AMG ONE, and Grand Theft Auto V. For more evidence, both this and this edit changed information about the revenue of the same video game. For another example, the new account continued updating the Super Taikyu section on the Nissan GT-R article ( diff), which was previously done by the old accounts ( diff, diff).
