Suspected sockpuppets

Two relatively new accounts, editing sparsely, lots of crossover in topics, similarly-worded edit summaries. Only recently, one account has been backing up the other account (tag-team) in content disputes where multiple reversions have happened, on Catalonia and Camp Nou. I was about to open one also on TPH and EC, but I see one exists already. I'll just add my thoughts, which are these: I wish there were a page WP:Sockpuppet Watch, when current evidence doesn't quite imply socking, but bears being listed on a page somewhere so that skilled volunteers can keep an eye out for further developments. That's where I think we are with these two; below is the evidence I have so far:

500 edits by The Penfield Homunculus sorted and de-duped into ~60 unique pages:
187 edits by El Caganer sorted and de-duped into 13 unique pages

Not sure that's sufficient; could just be two football fans from Catalonia supporting each other, but I think at a minimum, watchful waiting is in order. Mathglot ( talk) 02:37, 27 March 2024 (UTC) reply

One more quantum of data since I last wrote: the two users are tag-teaming to support unsourced content at Talk:Catalonia#Lead ( diff, diff). The emerging pattern is Catalan nationalism. Mathglot ( talk) 05:55, 27 March 2024 (UTC) reply
  • @ HJ Mitchell: I think Synalepha might need to be added to this check. Another account with very few contributions who restored El Caganer's wording. [1] Czello ( music) 08:25, 28 March 2024 (UTC) reply
  • @ HJ Mitchell: I'd like to add more evidence. I've never heard of the word "vandalic" before, but El Caganer used it here in an edit summary on 18 March, and The Penfield Homunculus used it 8 times in edit summaries in August 2023. Fred Zepelin ( talk) 20:06, 28 March 2024 (UTC) reply

  •  Possible is about the best you're going to get, I'm afraid. Both accounts are in/around the same city. One is using a mobile connection, the other is using home broadband from the same ISP. It could be the example I often give on the limitations of checkuser—one person editing from different devices on different connections being scrupulous not to connect the mobile device to their home wifi. Or it could be two different people. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:20, 27 March 2024 (UTC) reply
  • Synalepha is  Confirmed to The Penfield Homunculus. Blocking those two, and blocking El Caganer as suspected based on behaviour. Surprised they got away with that username. Spicy ( talk) 20:13, 28 March 2024 (UTC) reply

Obvious sock account, created today and minutes later performed same edits on Camp Nou that previous sock account had, and IP addresses had. Fred Zepelin ( talk) 16:37, 30 March 2024 (UTC) reply

Transparent attempt to keep forcing their edits - the registered accounts (now blocked for socking) were making the exact same edits as this IP and another IP, one day after the blocks. Fred Zepelin ( talk) 13:00, 30 March 2024 (UTC) reply

same disruptive edits as Synalepha and El Caganer (already blocked as socks of The Penfield Homunculus). Fred Zepelin ( talk) 17:29, 30 March 2024 (UTC) reply
