@ Bbb23 and Ad Orientem: for some reason, this editor reminds me a lot about Hassan Guy ( talk · contribs). Apart from the POV and the geographical area being the same, there are other behavioral similarities in terms of the line of arguments, compulsive socking and block evasion, incomplete understanding of policies and formatting of discussions. There are some similarities, though HG is hardly the only Pakistani POV pusher. I am not seeing enough behavioral evidence for me to be comfortable with blocking them. But I agree this is likely an IP sock of somebody. - Ad Orientem ( talk) 01:46, 26 November 2018 (UTC) reply
@ Ad Orientem: The IP I pointed out is clearly a sock (in my view) of Abhishek9779 ( talk · contribs). You can see their same set of arguments that Romanov67 ( talk · contribs) made on Talk:Durand Line using the same set of sources. My point was that this user aka Abhishek9779 ( talk · contribs) and their socks, which are already blocked, look very familiar to Hassan Guy. There are lot of language similarities. They have all used the word "double standard" here [5], [6] and [7] across different IPs but two of those are known to be Hassan Guy. Couple that with the inability to correctly indent their paras or sign off articles makes me very suspicious. I can dig up further ones if you are still unconvinced. @ Ad Orientem: IMO we should merge this case-page with Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Hassan Guy since the similarities are uncanny. But this is dependent on what Bbb23 thinks since they have more insight with the CU and other technical details. Maybe they had a good reason to term this as a different case. Bbb23 didn't "term this as a different case" because I had filed the SPI [8] under "Abhishek9779". I am also aware of Hassan Guy and his IPs however I couldn't discover any behavioral similarities to file it under "Hassan Guy". These IPs are doing nothing except restoring edits of User:Anonymous17771 who was blocked as a sock to this SPI. Ranges are pretty dynamic so I am not sure if a block will work. Maybe the pages should be protected. Rzvas ( talk) 10:48, 2 January 2019 (UTC) reply

  • I'm not convinced that this is an attempt to intentionally hop IP addresses in order to cause disruption and abuse. More than half of the IP addresses listed here are from 37.111.128.0/24, and the contributions and WHOIS from that range show me that blocking even just the /24 range is highly likely to result in collateral damage. I think that protection, rather than blocking, is the best solution for situations and articles that are undergoing a high or persistent amount of disruptive editing. ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 03:06, 16 January 2019 (UTC) reply

I have noticed that when it comes to Abhishek9779's sockpuppeting he uses the same words and phrases over and over again. These include "ISIS declares Pakistan as enemy", "You are POV pushing","Who the hell is Abhishek9779?", "Discuss at the talk page".   • To make things clearer, all I originally requested was a CU to check for links between Rahataofficial to Abhishek9779 since it can be proved per WP:DUCK that both of them used the same IP address while logged out.   • I found 2 more accounts that appear to be sockpuppets of Abhishek9779. The first one is History.lover who has apparently opened up a talk on the page Jaish-ul Adl [ [24]]. in this particular talk he claims that the person(s) who listed Saudi Arabia and Pakistan should be "banned from further editing", which sounds quite similar to the language used by a confirmed sock of his [ [25]]. The other one is AayanMRiaz in which he keeps trying to claim that Pakistan was not in support of the Taliban and Al-Qaeda forces even though the source mentions the Kunduz Airlift along with Pakistani assisted truck evacuation of foreign fighters. Alibaloshi12 appears to be a sockpuppet account of Abhishek9779. I suspect it because the user is editing the same topic area that his other socks edited,(topics related to Balochistan,Iran,Afghanistan and Pakistan) and removal of Pakistan from the allies section of terrorist organizations. On the article Tehrik-e Taliban, 79.69.187.69 is restoring edits made by other potential socks of Abhishek9779,[ [30]]. The same sock IP has also made edits on Timeline of Indian history,[ [31]] and on Outline of ancient India, where he has also been using another account by the name of Xerxes931 , [ [32]],[ [33]],[ [34]]. I plan to add the account Katoen Natie, since they the user keeps repeating the same thing that because the source is by "Afghans" it can't be used.[ [35]][ [36]].Another detail I wanted to mention is that this account suddenly edits Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant – Khorasan Province after editing completely unrelated articles such as Bully Dog,and Gull Terrier. I mean I even noticed that originally with Anonymous17771 sockpuppet(which was blocked a while back in December), who suddenly started hounding me.The circumstances sound suspicious to me. At first he tried to remove content from his Oman's IP [37] and then he registered this new account to remove the content per here.
