Lizstjames
Reason
- To gather more info on inconclusive results of
Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Case/Skinny_McGee, I am requesting another check to include older users and policy abuse. I may have accidentally reported a puppet to be a master and missed the master account (possibly Lizstjames or Midsyndicate) upon first request.

[2] posted by
Lizstjames.
- After promotional material was rv, 67.140.86.158 posted same again
[3]
- Same material
[4] again rv by
Midsyndicate who claims to be Edward Douglas
[5] (band founder) which shows that he is editing his own bio and also indicates his disfavor of former partner.
-
162.40.19.208 refers to "disgruntled former business partner" in summary.
[6]...
-
Skinny_McGee's numerous reversions and removal of verifiable sources also are summarized with "disgruntled business partner"
[7] which indicate that Skinny McGee and 162.40.19.208 and Midsyndicate, if not same, are all working under same agenda.
-
User:Dionyseus also seems very infatuated with same agenda, especially as of late, and has made a weak yet understandable request for same. I am just covering the same ground for my own suspicions.
Abuse
- Self-promotion: Article is rife with self-promotion on the part of current band members and cross-linking between businesses they deal with. Looking back further in history there is strong suspicion that it may have begun with
User:Lizstjames (band promoter who is referenced on the band's
website),
User:Midsyndicate who claims to be band founder
Edward Douglas, which shows that he is editing his own bio and also indicates his disfavor of former partner, and by above IPs above ALL pointing to Chardon, Ohio, home base of the subject
Midnight_Syndicate article.
- Altering/removal of cited materials: references cited by users have been removed or context altered in order to present a deceptive view of actual events. They claim it is defamatory, however, upon further review it appears true, just not flattering (further explanation below).
The talk page was also archived by Skinny McGee but done so in a manner (using improper "\" instead of "/" that hides diffs and makes it impossible to link back to current talks (also claiming it to be "inactive" material).

- This case page has been merged with the previous check (see below in non-transcluded section of the page).
- I have indicated two named accounts that are two old for technical check, and removed IPs that are too old for technical check.
- This case is a repeat of the previous case with the addition of
Dionyseus (

- Technical evidence which is inconclusive will not suddenly become conclusive two days later.
- With the exception of Dionyseus, a long-term contributor with no interest in
Midnight Syndicate prior to the eruption of the edit war, all the other accounts and IP addresses appear to be single-purpose accounts created to promote the band, and may be treated as sockpuppets per
policy even if the technical evidence is inconclusive.
- Both sides in the edit war have used sock puppets, see

- Comments and replies got very long here, so I took the hint from Clerk (below) and moved it to
the talk page in a section for Lizstjames. Leaving Clerks notes above intact, but moved them along with my rather lengthy notes and others' replies. Recommend reading the talk page before making final decision. I agree with Clerk's statement all the other accounts and IP addresses appear to be single-purpose accounts created to promote the band, and may be treated as sockpuppets per
policy even if the technical evidence is inconclusive. I can accept that since some accts are too old to check for sure.

Skinny_McGee
- Strong suspicion of sockpuppetry, deceptive editing, and vandalism on the
Midnight_Syndicate article.
- ALL IPs of past abuse point to Chardon, OH (home of the article's subject).
- Non-enforced 3RRs and/or avoidance of 3RR.
- Removal of RFC (ie: no help/comment was ever given by outside editors when requested).
- Personal attacks.
3RR (3x to 6x) diffs
Latest edits on November 17-18, aside from being 3RR, also show that
SkinnyMcGee to be tag-teaming as
Pumpkinhead5 to avoid 3RR and that
Dionyseus helps
SkinnyMcGee in making reverts but does not try to discuss or mediate either.

Reasons for suspicions
- IPs between the posts below made by Skinny McGee all point to Chardon, Ohio as well.
- 9 November 2006:
67.140.91.34 makes post
[34] but forgets to sign in and replies in summary: ‘’“I was trying to add the link to Haunted Attraction in the body of the article as a reference because another editor disputes the use of the phrase 'the standard', but I guess I did it wrong. Sorry!”’’
- The editors arguing over the above mentioned reference were
SkinnyMcGee and
GuardianZ on
Talk:Midnight_Syndicate
-
GuardianZ makes edit.
[35]
-
SkinnyMcGee reverts immediately afterwards (with one minute).
[36]
-
67.140.91.34 also removes
Rfc requested by
GuardianZ to help. No wonder there were never any comments on the page by any other editors!
-
SkinnyMcGee and
67.140.91.34 revert twice in 10 minutes
[37]
-
SkinnyMcGee reverts back to link spam
[38] that was reverted by
User:Heligoland but completely alters article as
67.140.91.34 with deceptive edits.
[39]
More past abuse Further instances of suspected sockpuppetry (also vandalism) for the above include:
69.177.28.38 who removed a post that referenced Nox Arcana (a band that was formed by one of the former members of Midnight Syndicate)
[40], then immediately jumped over to the Midnight Syndicate page to post defamatory comments against Joseph Vargo of Nox Arcana.
[41] and after it was reverted, he then placed this longer defamatory statement
[42]
Comments It is suspected that
SkinnyMcGee is actually Edward Douglas
User:Midsyndicate editing his own Wiki bio (presumably under one or more of the above names and certainly matching one or more IP).
SkinnyMcGee keeps referring to a "disgruntled business partner" in his summaries, which lead me to believe that he is personally involved.
- More discussion and notes are available on my user page and talk page.

Skinny McGee improperly archived the talk page recently, with no link back, so I am having trouble finding diffs for some older sections. He previously argued against archiving, but has since done so. I suspect to hide diffs that would indicate above suspicions. I am looking into getting it properly archived. I am also wondering if I should have named a different puppetmaster... looking again at the history, some of those I suspect to be Skinny McGee's puppeteers may in fact be older accounts. Can you check backwards?
