A landmark subject, a well composed photograph, and inherent tension in the subject's precarious position. Large file size. Mild surface scratches and small artifacts, which could be addressed. Soft focus that can't be fixed. Is this worth a cleanup?

- Yeah, I'd suggest going ahead and nominating this. It could stand to be cleaned up, but it's a marvelous photo.

- I'm not so sure. It has major quality issues both in the original shot (the subject is out of focus) and in the scan, which is really noisy and way too contrasty in the foreground. FPC wouldn't be plain sailing, even with the clean-up. This FP, shot 30 years earlier, is a fair quality comparison. I've also seen much, much better examples of this kind of subject which might even be PD by now. Worth considering before nominating, is all. -- mikaul talk 14:44, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
