The WikiWednesday Salon by Grand Central is a planned gathering between the local Wikimedia NYC community and visitors from the global Wikimedia Foundation on Wednesday March 8 5:30-7pm at Convene 101 Park Avenue 40°45′04″N 73°58′41″W / 40.7512°N 73.978°W in the vicinity of Manhattan's Grand Central Terminal.
This is somewhat of a sequel to the March 2022 Wiki-Tent Brunch in terms of the participants, though this time it is an evening event in a different borough.
All attendees are subject to Wikimedia NYC's Code of Conduct. In addition, to participate in person you should be vaccinated and also be sure to respect others' personal space, and we may limit overall attendance size if appropriate.
We may leaven the event with a few impromptu lightning talks, a Wiki-fashion show, and likely an afterparty tour.
You're encouraged to come dressed in your finest Wikimedia clothing and accessories (bags, buttons, even books), or clothing connected to the topics you edit on wiki projects, show off your getup on the runway and tell the origin story of how you got them.
Add your 3-5 minute lightning talk here! Lightning talks may cover a wide range of topics related to Wikipedia, Wikimedia, and the larger free culture movement.
