Nominator's rationale: Over-categorization. No reason why anyone would use this navigation tool and it is difficult to determine who really belongs. The only people listed for example were Communists and supposedly not practicing Jews.

keep as part of the series found in its parent
Category:Executed people by nationality. Practicing or not is quite irrelevant here; the nationality/ethnic group is the only relevant fact

Jewish is not a nationality. Jews may be Americans, Israelis, etc.

delete we don't need to start splitting executions by ethnicity nor ethnoreligious grouping that cross national boundaries. Most executions are carried out by state apparatus thus the most relevant container is the nation-state in which these people found themselves. There is nothing that ties together a Jew summarily shot in a nazi death camp to one executed for murder in the US in the same year.--

when we have groupings by ethnoreligious groups that cross national boundaries it is because they have been discussed as a group - eg Jewish sportspeople have been discussed as a group. However, since people can be executed for all sorts of reasons, including treason, during war, or for murder, etc I see no value in linking together all executed Jewish people - we already have many more specific categories of people killed in nazi death camps but this category would have us re-categorize all of them into this one as well, and mix them together with other executed Jews from other time periods. The Kurdish category may have to be deleted as well. The bottom line is just because we have 'Jewish people X' that does not give carte Blanche for 'Jewish people Y'. --

note: you seem to be equating spitting by nationality with splitting by ethnicity. These are two totally separate issues - we regularly split by nationality in order to diffuse large categories - however we do not regularly split by ethnicity unless it can be established that the ethnicity has a special relation to the topic at hand, and you have not demonstrated that is the case with Jews and execution.--

It makes complete sense to discuss about Jewish people who were executed by communists (in USSR, Romania, and other countries) and by other political parties (nazi or whatever elese). A Romanian Jewish person wants to know how many Jewish people are/were members of the Romanian Academy (and who are those people), and how many Jewish people were executed by communists. It's part of their history. If I would be a Jeiwsh Romanian, then one of the first things I would be interested to learn would be such things - pleasant and painful facts alltoghether. Can you please show me the Wikipedia guide that says that we do not regularly split by ethnicity unless it can be established that the ethnicity has a special relation to the topic at hand ? Can you tell me what is the special relation of the ethnicity with the topic that justify the existence of categories like
Category:Jewish scientists,
Category:Jewish American scientists,
Category:Jewish social scientists,
Category:Jewish Japanologists,
Category:Jewish philanthropists ? What I understand until this moment is that the idea is that only "beautiful" categories about Jewish people make sense and therefore can exist. If there is an unwritten rule like that, I can understand that, maybe it's too soon to make such "unpleasant" categories, so I'll wait a few hundred years more until the world is more mature and such categories won't foment all sorts of idiots. —

I did a category intersection of (Jews) with (Executed people) and there are likely around 500-700 valid articles about people who were Jewish and who were executed - but besides a few place-specific incidents (eg holocaust or Various Russian purges), nothing binds these people together. For example there were a number of Russian Jews who were executed for reasons having nothing to do with being Jewish, and a number of Jews in Europe killed by the Nazis not for being Jewish either but because they were resistance fighters (there was a debate earlier about whether ppl killed in death camps were 'executed' or rather just murdered since there wasnt a judicial process or conviction behind the killing) the ethnicity cats guidance is at
WP:EGRS. I also agree that there's a proliferation of Jewish categories and I would be fine with deleting some of the other ones, it has nothing to do with nice or unfortunate categories - however this one in particular has a risk of misleading, because if we fill it up, people might say 'ah look at all the Jews who were killed' but the reasons are so varied that such a grouping doesn't make any sense.--

Delete The Jewishness of people ececuted was often not at all a factor. Plus, I remember when we considered Jewish American serial murderers, none of them were unambiguously Jewish.

Delete. We don't need to develop an "executed people by ethnicity" tree. "By nationality" and "by executing jurisdiction" are enough. Most of the people in this category will be easily categorizable in a "by nationality" category.

keep Nuclear power and International Red Cross - these are both reasonable categories that also act as containers to bring together related jobs/roles in these fields.
Delete people associated with carnivorous plants - this is ultimately a more specific subset of botany, but we don't classify botanists by what plants they study generally, although one could see a
Category:Carnivorous plant researchers as a possibility but I'm not sure it's needed.
Support OWK -- This is a sensible suggestion.

Delete. What does "associated with" mean? I have a carnivorous plant by my side and a computer fueled by nuclear power. I won't even mention my donation to IRC. Some blame a meteorite for my condition(s). LOL. I have no objection to renaming to limit the scope and exclude me from these categories! OTOH
WP:OC#ASSOCIATED covers the matter much better that me. --

Nominator's rationale:Delete. Stub categories are filled via template. No point in keeping a stub redirect category. Delete all of these categories as they are no longer needed.

Oppose. I quote, "there is no guideline that requires a parent article; there is only a guideline that, if a parent article exists, the category matches it" and "the authorship of a song is a defining characteristic of that song, regardless of whether we have (or could expect to have) an article on the author." --
