This is a summary of recent technology and site configuration changes that affect the English Wikipedia. Note that not all changes described here are necessarily live as of press time; the English Wikipedia is currently running version 1.43.0-wmf.9 (52a3d57), and changes to the software with a version number higher than that will not yet be active. Configuration changes and changes to interface messages, however, become active immediately.
Fixed bugs
If a new page is moved immediately after being created and the redirect is deleted, the page now shows up in
Special:Newpages. (

"Active users" bug fix
The report on the fix to the "active users" count has it backwards. The count used to exclude a lot of users for reasons I don't fully understand, but now includes them (hence the count has increased by a factor of 15!). PaddyLeahy ( talk) 08:26, 30 September 2008 (UTC) reply
