  • Looks like Ponyo did a rangeblock on 91.109.30.0/24 (summarized: CheckUser block: webhostblock Leaseweb Germany GmbH), so that scooped up a bunch of these. The 117.* IP hasn't edited since January 2016, so I don't see what we could do there, unless the range was generating disruptions. But figuring that out easily is kinda beyond my skillset. Closing. @ L235: I've indeffed IndianLogical. As for Thebestediter, they don't appear to have any deleted contributions. Their only edit is the revert. I'm not sure if that's enough to conclusively tie them to the master but it does seem suspicious. I'd be inclined to err on the side of caution and see if any other edits affirm sock puppetry. Deleted history at Sayyad Aman Mian Sharma did reveal User:Chipachip as a WP:DUCK. Mkdw talk 22:37, 25 December 2016 (UTC) reply

Created account and almost immediately goes to RFPP on the plurally deleted Syed Aman Mian Sharma articles that Theactingeeker kept trying to create as various socks, immediately jumps into an AFD discussion for an article that previous socks have edit warred on, and also seems to understand SPI's a little too well for a newbie. They're using "Random article", but strangely seem to end up mostly on articles related to stuff that previous socks have edited (Indian TV/film related articles, mostly) - seems amazingly coincidental. Writing style in edit summaries also seems extremely similar to User:Popularistam (another blocked Theactingeeker sock) and other such socks. CU as I strongly believe there are more out there, considering the prevalence of socking.

In addition, something seriously hinky is going on here, and others are noticing it too (hence the afore linked SPI for this same user). Any help is sorting this out would be really appreciated, as I think there's a larger issue going on, beyond just this sockmaster. To clarify, I think there is some correlation between this situation and this situation, based on the interactions between socks at the same and similar articles, the various AfDs, and SPIs. The user page of this user is almost word for word the same as User:MumbaikarLaunda (a previous sock blocked the day that this new one was created). Usually worth checking for sleepers. If it's not sockpuppetry (the account HAS been around for awhile), it's definitely meatpuppetry and very possibly undisclosed paid editing. @ Chrissymad: at least the last report (newest in the archive) involved recreating the page with content that was quite different from earlier deleted versions. I suspect both of these accounts for different reasons.

  • On March 30, after the most recent report, the page Sher E Punjab - Maharaja Ranjit Singh was deleted and salted. Roughly three hours later, Imon Sarker created Sher-e-Punjab: Maharaja Ranjit Singh reusing some of the same content (admins: see the "plot" section of the deleted page).
  • Some time later, MiniTVIndia (an account with no other edits) dropped a significant bit of promotional material about Theactingeeker's favourite actor into the lede of the same article.
