Syrthiss (
talk·contribs) – I have been an editor here since
July 15,
2005, starting with a simple edit to
Talk:Battle of Grunwald. Since that time I have contributed to
several articles, reverted vandalism, investigated copywrite violations, participated in AFD/VFD discussions, listed articles for AFD and speedy deletion, participated in voting on RfA, welcomed new editors, and in general contributed positively to Wikipedia. For the number crunchers, I estimate I have around 2300 edits with 99+% edit summary use. There have been a few times recently where having admin abilities would have been useful, so I felt I would take a step to request to become an admin.

Support I'm biased (we've known each other ten years), but what the hell. I introduced him to wiki and now he's even more active than I am. :) --

Support I've interacted with this user often at the funhouse that is Recent Deaths, and have found him level-headed and of sound judgment. Certainly mop-worthy.

Crazy username (I am still trying to make sense out of it :) ), loves to tell people when they voted twice on their RfA's. I say supportεγκυκλοπαίδεια* (talk) 02:35, 8 December 2005 (UTC)reply
Support: I see him around doing good things. A lot of vandal reversion and tagging, welcoming, and editting. Worn out as it may sound, I assumed he was an administrator. --

Support hope to see you doing good work, but I am confident that you will.

Anticipating the question - a time recently where I wished I had the ability to protect / unprotect the page was when Itzhak Rabin's picture appeared on the main page but the picture itself wasn't protected. I got to work, opened my browser and was greeted by a picture of a penis in place of Rabin. It turns out it was fixed by the time I figured out it wasn't intended to be there and got to
WP:AN to ask someone to fix it. :) --

Questions for the candidate A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:
A. I would continue to revert vandalism, and assist with closing out discussions in
WP:AFD and
WP:MFD. I would also continue to help with
WP:AIV (at the moment I can only monitor that list and assist in reverting vandalism), cleaning out older vandal reports at
WP:VIP. I would also begin to look into things that I had previously shied away from such as
Category:Articles to be merged and work to help resolve disputes on pages.
2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
A. I don't think any one of my contributions stands out well above the others, but I did enjoy working to wikify and copyedit
Stiftsgården with
User:Caesura. It was very rough when it first was created here
[1], I assume as a translated page from the Norwegian Wikipedia. I think I'm best though with RC patrol and keeping oversight on my watchlist of articles for vandalism. Since I am familiar with the articles on my watchlist, I can be a slightly better judge in my opinion of subtle vandalism on them than something I am completely unfamiliar with from
WP:RC.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
A. I have been in no major conflicts, luckily. I had some stress concerning an editor on
Rosalind Franklin who I feel failed to
assume good faith and remain civil to me, and in that case I walked away from the article and allowed the other editors to work with him. I would continue to try and find a consensus in all disagreements, and seek outside help from other editors and admins in conflicts concerning articles I was involved with.
