Please review the
AWB guide before making a request. Users are rarely approved unless they have either 250 non-automated
mainspace editsor500 total mainspace edits. You can check your non-automated contributions on
XTools. Administrators are automatically approved and do not need to request access. For bots, you must first have a
bot approval request approved, or in trial; link to your BRFA in the request. This page is for requesting AWB Access for English Wikipedia only. Other projects have their own check pages and you should ask administrators there to add you.If approved, your name will be added to the
CheckPage. If you will make many or fast automated edits using AWB, you may wish to use a separate (or bot) account for that purpose; first create the account, give it a userpage declaring it to be your alternate account, then make the request using your main account.
I'm interested to try out AWB and see if it ups my wiki productivity (especially for pages I monitor or am actively editing). Thanks -

Well it seems like it helps make repetitive changes more effeciently, so I'm interested in using it to automatically make common fiexes, find and replace text, and otherwise streamline tedious tasks (particularly with pages I've made and/or are actively working on). I like the idea of custom scripts to fix less common errors that I am aware of quickly across multiple pages. (For example, in many of the Caribbean archaeology pages I monitor, there are outdated information, word choices, etc that could be more easily fixed all at once). Thanks, -

Hello! Wouldn't mind trying out the regex edit stuff in AWB. Thank you for your time.

Slowking Man, what do you mean by "the regex edit stuff"? For what do you plan on using AWB? (please do notping on reply)

"Search and replace wikitext – plain text or regular expressions". I have regex and programming experience. Also would like the "make edits a list of pages" functionality.

Well, if you go through my Wikipedia contributions, my primary focus involves correcting typos and improving grammar in articles. I used to do this manually, but I've recently discovered that AWB (AutoWikiBrowser) is a more efficient tool for this task. Using AWB will increase my productivity and allow me to identify and correct issues on Wikipedia pages more quickly.
