This page is for information about the
Institute of Cultural Inquiry's Wikipedia meetups in Los Angeles. Our series of monthly meetups has been suspended as of July 1, 2016, due to scheduling conflicts. Future meetups will be announced here as they come up.
Themes
We usually have a theme for the afternoon (see below), but you are encouraged to come and work on whatever you like.
When and where
Date: 4th Saturday of each month. Confirmed dates in 2016 include: Jan. 23, Feb. 27, March 26, April 23, May 28, and June 25.
Time: 12-4 pm.
Place: Institute of Cultural Inquiry, 1512 S. Robertson Blvd., Los Angeles, CA.
Cost: Free. There is ample free street parking nearby.
Participants: No Wikipedia editing experience is necessary; in fact, we especially encourage you to come if you are new to Wikipedia and want to try it out. ICI associates will provide help for beginners throughout the afternoon. You are welcome to stay for the whole afternoon, or drop in for just awhile.
What to bring: Please bring your own laptop and power cord if you have one but don't stay away if you don't. We have a small number of computers for attendees to use.
Perks: We offer a friendly, quiet place to edit pages, plus drinks and snacks to sweeten the session.
The ICI is a small artist-run non-profit organization focused on visual technologies and and visual culture. You’ll have access to the 3000+ books on art and visual culture in our library to help you in your research. Check out the
ICI website for more information about its activities.
