File:Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff (quadtych).jpg ( delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Est. 2021 ( notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

This file does not appear to comply with the non-free content criteria, specifically:

  • Criterion 2, because the file is used in a manner that conflicts with the market role of the original copyrighted media
  • Criterion 3b, because an entire work is being used when a portion or a reduced-size copy would suffice — Ирука 13 19:13, 25 August 2023 (UTC) reply
@ Iruka13: Lmao, thanks for this umpteenth discussion about this file I uploaded – it has already been mistakenly deleted once because of your false statements, then it has been restored [1] and you apparently can't go over it. You're lying about both Criterion 2 and Criterion 3b, because – as mentioned in the non-free use rationale – the section Adaptation and appearances literally states that Olsen noted that when Joss Whedon offered her the role, he said "[wh]en you go home and Google her, just know you will never ever have to wear what she wears in the comics", [1] and, in keeping with this, Wanda's comic book costume was ignored in favor of more casual clothing. [...] As the show is premised on Wanda and Vision appearing in a sitcom (apparently constructed by Wanda to escape her grief over Vision's real-world death), her appearance throughout the series reflects the clothing styles of sitcom characters across different decades of the genre. By the finale, having fully embraced her identity as the Scarlet Witch, Wanda gains a new costume reflecting a modernized version of her comic counterpart. so we need to visually show her clothing variations in the MCU in comparison to the comics costume. We cannot use a portion or a reduced-size copy. We need to see all the variations and differences. Est. 2021 ( talk · contribs) 19:42, 25 August 2023 (UTC) reply

Exactly, because you falsely listed it as orphaned and got it deleted from Wanda Maximoff (Marvel Cinematic Universe)#Adaptation and appearances, where it was clearly used. Est. 2021 ( talk · contribs) 20:00, 25 August 2023 (UTC) reply

Iruka13 didn't list it as orphaned. They tagged it for F7 deletion, which is a different process. The REFUND was doubly-wrong - not only did UtherSRG incorrectly claim it was deleted as orphaned (thus causing this confusion), but they also should have denied the request - F7 is, per the header of Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion, not a criterion eligible to be undeleted there. There's nothing to do about it now, though, since we're here, and one of the admins of this venue will put an end to this saga. * Pppery * it has begun... 02:21, 27 August 2023 (UTC) reply
  • Keep and Slightly Reduce I'm not convinced in the nom's rationale that this violates NFCC policy, as it is not "replac[ing] the original market role of the original copyrighted material", which is from two films and a television series and such screenshots are automatically Non-free. It is used to contextualize the costumes of the character, as was its marketed use. I would think a slightly resized version may be sufficient, though not to resize it to be quite smaller to a point where it could be blurry or difficult to see one of the costumes because of the reduced size. Somewhere around 1/2 of the current size could be a workable solution. Trailblazer101 ( talk) 22:48, 25 August 2023 (UTC) reply
    • Delete per InfiniteNexus. I was mistaken in my initial interpretation. If we can get individual images uploaded, those would be more preferred, though I'm not sure how necessary those would be. One of the images is almost a duplicate of the infobox one. Trailblazer101 ( talk) 04:22, 27 August 2023 (UTC) reply
  • Delete This is a collage composed of fair-use images, a practice that is discouraged due to the "minimal use" provision of NFC. See WP:COLLAGE. InfiniteNexus ( talk) 04:06, 27 August 2023 (UTC) reply
  • Keep for the same reasons stated above by Trailblazer101 and InfiniteNexus. Quoting them: based on WP:COLLAGE, collages are discouraged, not banned; we can get individual images uploaded, […] though I'm not sure how necessary those would be. It is used to contextualize the costumes of the character, as was its marketed use. I would think a slightly resized version may be sufficient, though not to resize it to be quite smaller to a point where it could be blurry or difficult to see one of the costumes because of the reduced size. Simply quoting what I said does not articulate your actual stance, and it is best to put things in your own words. I just provided my thoughts on how to better approach this with individual files to display the costumes clearer, especially if this file gets deleted. I admit it is rather difficult to view the individual costumes when they are bunched together in a multiple image box (hence my vote change). I am also not sure we need to display four different costumes of the same character, as we are not a gallery on a wiki or blog. WP:COMMONS exists for such collections of images, though only free content. A couple images of prominent costumes could be of use in the article as long as they actually compare to the comics costume. Given how similar some of the costumes have been, I'd think only two MCU costumes are necessary for the article's coverage (again, one of the costumes in this file is also displayed via File:Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff.jpg, which is used in the infobox and an unnecessary duplication if you ask me. Trailblazer101 ( talk) 00:05, 29 August 2023 (UTC) reply
  • Delete per InfiniteNexus and WP:COLLAGE. Visually speaking, the bottom right image of this collage is more or less the same as the infobox image, so that deters another similar image from being used. If the purpose is to highlight the costume of the character, I think frankly either of the top two images could be used as a standalone, and if used as it currently is with the comics image, the caption can make mention of Olsen's Halloween version in WandaVision but we don't need the visual. - Favre1fan93 ( talk) 00:28, 29 August 2023 (UTC) reply

False. The photograph copyright is clearly expired in Italy, and the source page lists the picture at the Salone d'Onore dell'Istituto Storico e di Cultura dell'Arma del Genio sito a Roma in Lungotevere della Vittoria, 31. Est. 2021 ( talk · contribs) 19:56, 25 August 2023 (UTC) reply
