Uploader claims to be Rajasekharan Parameswaran and has uploaded multiple media files, including this one. But we do not know for sure if he really is what he claims to be. He has been advised to verify his identity to OTRS but has not yet done so. Additionally, copyright-holder is most likely to be the photographer not the person who appears in the image (unless it is paid-work?). It can be restored later if and when uploader sends a permission-letter or verifies his identity. Anup [Talk] 01:05, 25 October 2016 (UTC) reply

  • Delete per nomination. Even if the uploader is Rajasekharan Parameswaran, we need permission from the original copyright holder via OTRS. De728631 ( talk) 03:43, 25 October 2016 (UTC) reply
  • Comment: Uploader has verified their identity to OTRS ( ticket:2016102610000483). I've very primitive knowledge of copyright rules. I request someone knowledgeable in the field to talk to uploader on copyright status of this image. Thank you. Anup [Talk] 10:06, 26 October 2016 (UTC) reply
    • OTRS agent ( verify): The verification is only to prove that it is him, so he would not get blocked for impersonation. Copyright confirmation if someone else owns the image is still needed, unless we got evidence he should own it. ( tJosve05a ( c) 13:19, 23 November 2016 (UTC) reply
  • Delete: He needs to go through OTRS for this particular image, as far as I can see he has merely verified his identity. jcc ( tea and biscuits) 10:52, 28 October 2016 (UTC) reply
  • I've talked to uploader and according to him, this image was taken by his assistant. He has agreed to ask his assistant to send copyright-release letter to permissions. Closing administrator should check the permissions queue before deciding on this nomination. Anup [Talk] 21:03, 9 November 2016 (UTC) reply

From the texture, this looks like a compilation of non-free newspaper images rather than own original photos. De728631 ( talk) 03:30, 25 October 2016 (UTC) reply

No, I took each of the three photographs. They were scanned from copies of the school magazine - the earliest photo of Eric Livesey (left) processed using a coarse dot screen, the Kevin Comrie photo (middle) was simply photocopied, and the Tony Walsh image (right) was printed on a slightly more sophisticated offset litho machine. keithbates51 109.159.191.155 ( talk) 07:15, 25 October 2016 (UTC) reply

* Delete. Copyrighted images, spanning more than three decades, manifestly not originally taken by the uploader or indeed any single photographer. Softlavender ( talk) 07:26, 25 October 2016 (UTC); edited 02:04, 26 October 2016 (UTC) reply

This is really bad. I received an email from Wikipedia this morning asking about these images, I took the time to explain and I get accused of lying. I worked at the school for over three decades and these pics were 'manifestly' taken by a single photographer, me! keithbates51 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.159.191.155 ( talk) 14:51, 25 October 2016 (UTC) reply

  • Keep. Doing some Googling, I find it is possible that the uploader took all three photos. Moreover, if they are from the school magazine, they are probably not copyrighted. Softlavender ( talk) 02:04, 26 October 2016 (UTC) reply

Non-free image of a painitng being used in the main infobox of Samia Halaby. I could see using this in the main infobox of a stand-alone article about the painting itself, or even perhaps within the body of the article as an example of her work if the painting was the subject of sourced commentary within the article. However, using one of the artist's paintings as the primary means of identification at the top of the article about the artist herself is pretty much no different from using album cover art to identify a singer or a book jacket cover to identify an author in articles about them. If it's possible to justify non-free use for this image later on in the article, then fine. Otherwise, it should be deleted. -- Marchjuly ( talk) 11:40, 25 October 2016 (UTC) reply

  • Delete as no permission has been obtained from the artist to reproduce the image. Softlavender ( talk)

These three song samples are all used in the article for Phoebe Kreutz and are justified with the same generic purpose of "To demonstrate song in article". Together, they fail WP:NFCC#3a as we do not need three samples for the same purpose. Individually, they each fail WP:NFCC#8 as what little commentary there is about each song fails to be significant. Recommend that they all be removed. Whpq ( talk) 19:58, 25 October 2016 (UTC) reply

These two song samples are all used in the article for Ching Chong Song and are justified with the same generic purpose of "To demonstrate song in article". The two songs are discussed together as being representative of the style of the group with sourced commentary about the style. However, two samples are not needed thus together they fail WP:NFCC#3a. Of the two samples, File:Jonquil sample.ogg is does the best job of presenting the style as decribed in the article. Recommend that it be kept for use in the article, and the purpose in the non-free use rationale be updated to better describe its purpose. Recommend removal of File:Lynette sample.ogg as excessive use of non-free media for the same purpose. Whpq ( talk) 20:45, 25 October 2016 (UTC) reply
