HarshAJ ( talk · contribs · count) I am not very new to WP,but still am unsure in the principle way in which I can contribute. What I aim to understand from this review is an understanding of my strengths and weaknesses as a Wikipedia editor. Harsh Mujhse baat kijiye(Talk)( Contribs) 14:48, 14 September 2012 (UTC) reply

Questions

  1. What are your primary contributions to Wikipedia? Are there any about which you are particularly pleased? Why?
My primary contributions on Wikipedia thus far have been correcting linguistic errors, restructuring of sentences and such minor contributions.
  2. Have you been in editing disputes or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future? If you have never been in an editing dispute, explain how you would respond to one.
The way I would respond to Editing disputes is by considering the point of view of the other editor(s) involved and then take further action.

Reviews

  • Hi Harsh AJ, I'm TeleComNasSprVen ( talk · contribs) and I have looked at all your contributions, especially the ones to the India Portal, those are very well-received and (under)appreciated. Though of course not all Wikipedians might not say it directly, but your work which is focused on content creation is most valuable to building the encyclopedia, reflective of its five pillars. Admittedly though, compared to the more active Wikipedians your contributing is quite short (less than 1000 edits), so therefore there is a lot less to assess you on based on that, but I will try to make do with what little we might have. OK? :-)
  • I see as most of the first time Wikipedians have seen (I sometimes remember it as a distant memory) the initial stumbling blocks while wandering around the Wikipedia maze of policies and guidelines that restrict us, but what you've done is pull through and managed to write neat content, find reliable sources and update our much neglected Portal:India, and I commend you for that. Wikipedia will never be done, but you've certainly done your part to make this encyclopedia better, and I hope that with your knowledge of India-related topics some other knowledgeable person might pick up the slack again on that portal page.
  • Though I note that here your response to question #2 is quite ambiguous about what "further action" you might take, I've reviewed also your past interactions with other editors, and I think you've done a fine job of mediating disputes, and perhaps maintaining good faith while there is opposition to be had. For example, on Talk:Flo_Rida/Archive_1#Merge_Discussion shows that you've addressed most of the problems with the article appropriately as well as refrained from merging the discography page, which would have been consensus; Talk:Android_version_history/Archive_1#RFC_-_Speculation shows that you've handled the discussion in an intelligent manner and cited policy to back up your arguments, while still acknowledging Jenova's opinion as valid. On your talkpage I see no problems either in interaction with other users, mainly questions of policy or technicality.
  • Overall, you make a fine addition to Wikipedia and though I know you've been gone since 2012 I hope that you decide to stay longer. TeleComNasSprVen ( talkcontribs) 18:43, 16 December 2013 (UTC) reply
