Remember having some discussions a few years ago about landmarks versus buildings, and certified by authority rather than some editor thinking it was important. There are/were several sets of parallel duplicate trees. There are many authorities: National Register, National Historic Landmarks, etc. See
Category:Heritage registers in the United States. I'd thought the decision was to merge them all into "historic places" (not historicAL). But my memory must be wrong, as now we have "Locally designated landmarks". A quick search finds

Keep. Disagree with Nominator. Numbers of athletes have credited their athletic performance to the fact that they follow a plant-based diet, others have publicly declared to be on a vegan diet for health or ethical reasons, whatever the rationale once they publicly define themselves as vegan, it is a characteristic commonly mentioned in sources. Athletes such as
Lewis Hamilton,
Tia Blanco,
Alex Morgan,
Nick KyrgiosChris Smalling,
Carl Lewis or
Chris Paul to name a few have declared themselves to be vegan or to follow a plant-based diet. A search for "vegan Athletes" returns 113,000 results, “Carl Lewis vegan” returns 46,800 results “ Lewis Hamilton Vegan” 8,440 results while a search for "Chris Paul Vegan" and "Chris Smalling Vegan" returns results such as: "How Going Vegan has Benefitted NBA Star Chris Paul” and " Football Going Vegan: Chris Smalling explains why he turned to plant-based diet". The level of interest clearly shows how the two intersect, there would be no way to find them without those articles being categorized.

That merely indicates there may be room for a list, not that it is a defining characteristic of the people in the category.
Marcocapelle (

For example
this source mentions nothing about veganism. And even if it would, it would merely be mentioned as a trivialty.

Delete. The parent category was previously deleted, and there's no credible reason why Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioners need special treatment. Note that I'm also adding the
Category:Vegan sportspeople by sport parent category, which will be emptied if this goes.
Bearcat (

Bearcat No "special treatment" is requested here, sportspeople would be fine too as this is just a way to categorise athletes with a common characteristic (as explained previously with examples in various sports).

Oppose as it now contains
Category:Tour of Azerbaijan (Iran) and its many sub-categories. Tabriz is a large city and growth is reasonable, thus SMALLCAT does not apply.--

Nominator's rationale: There are three federally recognized tribes each for the Cherokee, the Seminole, the Kickapoo, and the Shawnee; the Blackfoot are divided into one federally recognized tribe in the US and three First Nations bands in Canada; the Wampanoag consist of two federally recognized tribes. A category referring to a singular Cherokee, Seminole, Kickapoo, Wampanoag, or Blackfoot tribe causes confusion. Pinging editors: @

Support. These are broad, overarching categories that cover culture, history, individuals, etc., so dropping "tribe" makes sense—for accuracy and to avoid confusion.
