Nominator's rationale: This is a textbook example of
WP:NARROWCAT. There is no
WP:DEFINING reason why being a vegan and being a sportsperson should intersect. --

Delete as non-defining.--

Delete as
WP:NONDEFINING- almost always, the fact someone is vegan and the fact they play sport are not in anyway related.

Delete in addition to being
WP:NONDEFINING, it is also volatile: somebody can become a vegan, or un-become one, at any time.--

Nominator's rationale:rename, "by period" is confusing because one would expect e.g. century subcategories. "By location" is not very precise (an alternative could be: "by location or ruling dynasty") but at least it is more in line with the content of the category than "by period".

I would oppose having any Maghreb category. In most of the Middle Ages there were quite clearly distinguishable states in the western half of the Maghreb and in the eastern half, while after the Umayyad Caliphate there was hardly ever a state that covered the full Maghreb.
Marcocapelle (

A category for the Maghreb region would not be different from the Egyptian and Syrian categories that currently exist under some of the "medieval Islamic world" categories. I assume that Egyptian/Syrian/Iraqi refers to regions and they're not used in an anachronistic sense. Not that I support that. I really think we should keep the country or other semi-nationalistic categories separate from the new "medieval Islamic world" categories.

Of course they are used in an anachronistic sense. We do not call modern countries "regions" anywhere else in the medieval tree. For Egypt that is less of an issue though, because there has been a country centered in Egypt throughout much of the medieval times.

Nominator's rationale: I do not see any difference in these two categories, so I suggest to merge them
Robby (

Merge same thing. The only subcat in the "coaches of" category is already also a subcat of the other category.

That new category now only contains one book and a writers subcategory. If there isn't anything else to populate it with it is just making the category tree unnecessarily complicated.

Merge (also the literature category). This is unlikely to become large enough to need splitting.
