Nominator's rationale: Better description of category content. For example, Romeo is a character, not an act. 89.139.69.176 ( talk) 22:21, 1 October 2018 (UTC) reply
  • Note While I personally don't care what to list this category as, I would like to point that the cat was originally listed as "character who committed.." before being changed due to this discussion. JDDJS ( talk) 04:00, 2 October 2018 (UTC) reply
  • Keep - subcat of Category:Suicides, not to mention Category:Deaths. Oculi ( talk) 09:54, 2 October 2018 (UTC) reply
  • Support, alignment with siblings e.g. Category:Ancient people who committed suicide‎ and with grandparent category Category:Fictional characters by behavior. Marcocapelle ( talk) 11:32, 2 October 2018 (UTC) reply
  • Keep. The nominator's premise is mistaken: long-standing English usage is that most words ending in -cide refer both to an act and the person who commits it. Possibly "homicide" is an exception, perhaps because it's commonly (I suspect informally) used to refer to the person killed, which would make this usage vague. Older usage is probably in line with the rest. But a suicide is the person who kills himself, a regicide is the person who kills the king, etc. Familiar examples might be "the Wood of the Suicides" in Dante, or Brutus and Cassius, the famous tyrannicides. Nominator's rationale: This is a better description of the category content - for example, King Claudius is a character who murdered his king, not the act of doing it. 89.139.69.176 ( talk) 22:15, 1 October 2018 (UTC) reply
  • Keep - per the noms above and below, the present title conforms with the usual naming in the category tree Category:Deaths. Oculi ( talk) 10:10, 2 October 2018 (UTC) reply
  • Keep: as explained above, established English usage supports the current title. P Aculeius ( talk) 12:28, 2 October 2018 (UTC) reply
  • Keep -- Those who signed the death warrant of Charles I of England were known as regicides. Regicide was not a separate crime from high treason. Peterkingiron ( talk) 15:42, 2 October 2018 (UTC) reply

The result of the discussion was: rename to Category:Monrovia High School alumni (there is consensus not to keep the category under its current purpose, and high school alumni categories are relatively common). Good Ol’factory (talk) 00:20, 9 October 2018 (UTC) reply
Nominator's rationale: Wrong namespace for article (article would be speediable anyway), and as a category, little to no potential for population beyond 2, and little to no encyclopedic value. — swpb T go beyond 19:33, 1 October 2018 (UTC) reply

Nominator's rationale: Created by a banned user. Way too many sitcoms don't use a laugh track for this category to be relevant. Additionally, sitcoms filmed infront of a live studio audience would fall into a gray area. JDDJS ( talk) 14:56, 1 October 2018 (UTC) reply
  • Delete per WP:DNWAUC. DexDor (talk) 20:26, 2 October 2018 (UTC) reply
  • Keep as a majority of sitcoms do use laugh tracks, would it not be interesting if there were a category for sitcoms without audience laughter or canned laughter? Vorbee ( talk) 08:23, 3 October 2018 (UTC) reply

Nominator's rationale: delete, we do not have an article on Social economics except as a redirect to Socioeconomics and I think that neither of the articles would belong in Category:Socioeconomics. No need to merge, the articles are already in the tree of Category:Economists by nationality. Marcocapelle ( talk) 05:17, 7 August 2018 (UTC) reply
  • Delete I could see a hypothetical biography subcategory under the Category:Socioeconomics tree, but this is under the Category:Social economy tree and I'm unclear on the inclusion criteria. RevelationDirect ( talk) 03:36, 10 August 2018 (UTC) reply
  • Keep. Social economics is not the same as socioeconomics. It is a field in its own right. See for example here. Sooner or later there should be an article on social economics.-- Ipigott ( talk) 08:54, 11 August 2018 (UTC) reply
@ Ipigott: If you want to take a shot at creating a main article and find 5 biography articles that fit into that description, I'm more than happy to change my vote now or be open to recreating the category later. My only concern is with the category going before that main article that will establish that inclusion criteria within Wikpedia. RevelationDirect ( talk) 09:57, 11 August 2018 (UTC) reply
  • Based on this link, it looks like social economics is a synonym of Behavioral economics. However neither of the two biographies in this category belongs in that area. Marcocapelle ( talk) 19:53, 11 August 2018 (UTC) reply

  • Empty manually by recategorizing and then delete. We have two articles, one on a French epidemiologist, who is already categorised as a French social scientist (and needs no more) and a Bangladeshi economist dealing with issues relating to the poor and deprived. She probably needs to be categorised instead as a Bangladeshi social scientist and a Bangladeshi economist (perhaps even a sociologist). Peterkingiron ( talk) 15:52, 2 October 2018 (UTC) reply

Nominator's rationale: An actor is not a defining characteristic for a film. (I know there's a guideline somewhere that talks about this but I can't find it at the moment. I'm sure some CfD regular can cite it!) Pichpich ( talk) 02:53, 1 October 2018 (UTC) reply

  • Case for retaining Category:Rajkumar Films and Category:Vishnuvardhan Films
Lead Actor uniquely identifies the movie and that becomes a unique entity. Categories for the lead actor will help masses to identify the Wiki Page & access them with ease.
The categories for 2 Cultural Stalwarts of Kannada Filmdom were much needed and I have created them. Not just with respect to Film Noir, my intent was to spark adding categories for Kannada Literature, Sports, Politics and Economy. Movie Categories for Dr. Rajkumar & Dr. Vishnuvardhan are just the beginning.
In fact, I have modified the category names from Dr Rajkumar to Rajkumar, owing to guidance in Manual of Style. Thanks are due to @Zchrykng @Zchrykng: and @Chrissymad @Chrissymad: Smjalageri ( talk) 04:10, 1 October 2018 (UTC) reply
I look forward to debate on this.
