Nominator's rationale: Per WP:ARBITRARYCAT and WP:OCAWARD ( WP:NONDEFINING)
Anyone serving in the local armed forced between 1 December 1973 and 16 September 1976 automatically received the Papua New Guinea Independence Medal to celebrate the country's independence. If you retired the day before or started the day after, you would not receive the award. (Many civilians and foreign soldiers also received the honor.) If we decide to delete this category, the recipients of this award are already listed here. – RevelationDirect ( talk) 00:25, 24 December 2016 (UTC) reply

Nominator's rationale: Per WP:OCAWARD ( WP:NONDEFINING)
The Alaska Sports Hall of Fame began 2007 and they maintain an exhibit above Baggage Claim No. 5 in the Anchorage Airport. Of the 19 people and events in this category, 16 don't even mention the award, 2 mention it in passing ( 17, 18), and the creator of the category added it to the introduction of 1 article ( 19). It's fine to include this honor in a list of awards, but it doesn't seem defining. If we decide to delete this category, the winners are already listed here. - RevelationDirect ( talk) 00:23, 24 December 2016 (UTC) reply
