Rename to "Architects of Roman Catholic churches"; while the category name is problematic, it has nearly thirty members, so it's not as if it's small enough never to be populated. I can't see why you find the parent categories rather bizarre.

Does an 'Architect of a Roman Catholic church' have to be Roman Catholic, and is an architect an artist? (In GB-Eng I would say an architect is not an artist.)
Occuli (

REanme to
Category:Architects of Roman Catholic churches. Given the sectarian nature of religion, it is unlikely that the same architect would be asked to design (for example) a Baptist church, so that the changes of overlap between different denominational subcategories is probably not great.
Peterkingiron (

Nominator's rationale:Rename as proposed or to whatever the correct plural version is. Cities apparently don't exist in Rominia and this would match the name of the main article. When we did the top level rename, we said that at the country level we should be using the terminology that actually exists in the various countries. After reading the article, it would appear that the correct parent for this may be
Category:Towns in Romania. But the article is not totally clear since it also calls these places cities. So, I'm ready to be educated.
Vegaswikian (
talk) 18:30, 17 August 2010 (UTC)reply
The plural is "municipii", but that's not an English word; English would be "municipalities". However, a looser but still accurate translation is "cities". Indeed the category was at

We don't use categories like
Category:Cities and towns in Cluj County since categories should be for a single type of settlement and not different types. The exceptions are where local usage is a term that covers both which is apparently not the case here. I'll also add that I believe
Category:Cities in Cluj County could be deleted outright if there are so few articles for it. In looking at the other categories quickly, this appears to be the only county level category in Romania. Don't know if this level of detail is a needed or not.
Vegaswikian (
talk) 23:53, 17 August 2010 (UTC)reply
Unless there are going to be a significant number of cities and towns in every county, it might be best to not create these categories. Are these cities, towns, villages and communes known locally as localities? If yes, then having a by county localities category that rolls up to
Category:Populated places in Romania would be the best way to go. Articles would also be listed in the cities, towns, villages and communes category.
Vegaswikian (

"Significant" is a matter of perception, but probably varies from 16 (Suceava County) to 4 (Brăila County). Cities, towns and communes are all localities. (We tend not to have standalone articles on Romanian villages, since they don't have separate administrative powers.) And OK, I'll see how I work this - I'll probably do a "localities in X County" for every one of them, when I get a chance. -

Nominator's rationale:Delete. Redundant. A light socket is the part of a
light fixture that accepts a lamp (i.e. light bulb), and sometimes contains the
light switch. It is not a category of things (unless we were going to write about specific makes/models of light sockets, but don't you think that that would be unnotable? :-), but rather something that only needs mention in it's own article. This category was created by
User:Radiojon, who added the following articles to this category, often removing the old categories in the process (however, he created a couple of these articles, which are marked with a *):
Light socket was the "main" article, but is the only article with anything relevant to a 'light socket'. All the other articles deal more with bulb/lamp bases (i.e. the connector on the bulb itself) than light sockets. It almost appears that
User:Radiojon believes that 'light socket' is synonymous with 'bulb/lamp base'. All of these articles were formerly part of this category, but I removed the category from those articles, and (except on
Automotive lamp types) replaced it with
Category:Lighting,
Category:Electrical connectors, and
Category:Mechanical standards(except on
Light socket). (remember that I did all this before coming here and reading that I'm not supposed to remove these articles from the category yet! :-) All three replacement categories were the original categories for
Edison screw, but they seemed to be fitting replacements. It turns out that even
Light socket dealt mostly with bulb bases originally! (untill I (partially) fixed that by adding relevant info). So with this category being redundant, I am suggesting that it be deleted. (Sorry it this seems to be a mouthful, but I'm just trying to explain my reasons fully. ;-). [|

Merge what is appropriate to
Category:Electrical power connectors. Any joint has a male and a female part. There's a category on female part, but the content articles cover both part and actually focus on the male parts (bulbs). No puns here. Don't focus too much on the one-sided coverage in the articles (engineering articles always lag behind video games...). We have a
Category:Electrical connectors where each entry usually describes a specific standard with both male and female components. There are subsets for
Category:Electrical signal connectors and
Category:Electrical power connectors. For practically all practical purposes, a bulb-to-socket connector is a power connector and belongs to the latter category.
