The result was withdrawn. I wouldn't have nominated it if I'd realized the composer was the WWII aviator. I'll leave it to others to decide if the page should be moved to a new title or not. ( non-admin closure) Shawn in Montreal ( talk) 14:00, 17 July 2017 (UTC) reply

Deprodded by article creator, I can't find anything at this particular Robert Bruce, who seems to clearly fail WP:NCREATIVE and WP:GNG. Shawn in Montreal ( talk) 12:17, 16 July 2017 (UTC) reply

I contest deletion due to the fact the article is included in three wikiproject: WikiProject Biography WikiProject Composers WikiProject Classical music. I created the article but other with more knowledge can help improving it.-- Elisa.rolle ( talk) 12:19, 16 July 2017 (UTC) reply
Yes, I know. No offence, but that's a ludicrous explanation. Adding a wikiproject banner to a talk page is in no way, shape or form an attestation of notability. Shawn in Montreal ( talk) 12:22, 16 July 2017 (UTC) reply

  • Keep. If four major newspapers thought him worthy of an obituary that seems to me to indicate notability. I've added links to those obituaries, should anyone wish to use them as sources to expand the article. -- Deskford ( talk) 13:25, 16 July 2017 (UTC) reply
The Guardian article is an appreciation by a relative (labelled "Other Lives", their heading for notices of people who don't merit an obituary by staff writers) and therefore not a reliable source. The Telegraph obit is a better demonstration of notability. -- Colapeninsula ( talk) 10:48, 17 July 2017 (UTC) reply

  • At most Weak keep -- I have corrected "professor" to "lecturer" as this is all the obituaries support. And they all focus on his RAF career, not his musical compositions, which may have been one rarely performed symphony. Peterkingiron ( talk) 15:35, 16 July 2017 (UTC) reply
  • I improved the article, the symphony is related to his wartime period, therefore I added details about it and his family.-- Elisa.rolle ( talk) 20:21, 16 July 2017 (UTC) reply
  • Rename Clearly fails notability as a composer, but might survive as e.g. 'Robert Bruce (aviator)'. By the way, there is clear evidence of copyvio from the Telegraph obituary. (e.g. "After retiring in 1977, Bruce and his wife renovated a cottage at Llechryd, South Wales, where they also created and tended a beautiful one-acre garden", and other sentences and phrases.)-- Smerus ( talk) 20:41, 16 July 2017 (UTC) reply
  • Keep and rename Robert Bruce (RCAF navigator). Lengthy obituaries in The Telegraph, The Scotsman and elsewhere mean others consider his military accomplishments notable. He and his pilot were aces several times over. Clarityfiend ( talk) 00:08, 17 July 2017 (UTC) reply
