The result was keep. There is no possibility that this AfD will end any other way at this point.

I could not really see enough online and from the article to what I believe would allow this to pass
WP:GNG. Results are dominated with other people with this name. Suggest merge and redirect to Catch a Rising Star (comedy clubs) in some form.

Keep Full length obituaries in NYT and Washington Post, coverage in book sources like Comedy at the Edge, Billboard has coverage of his non-club business ventures, and I see other sources. Yes, he's mainly notable for Catch a Rising Star, but this amount of coverage justifies an independent article.

Keep - Has to be notable if 2 major national newspapers are writing articles on him.

Keep - based on 2 obituaries in national newspapers. --

Delete - notability is not inherited. Doesn't have SIGCOV addressing the subject directly and indepth from RS. No objection to a properly sourced merge to
Catch a Rising Star (comedy clubs) //

Keep: if full and detailed obituaries in
two major newspapers is not significant coverage, what would be?
Bearian (

Keep. Article subject has notability beyond the context of
WP:NOTINHERITED as evidenced by coverage in reliable sources.

Keep. The individual passes
WP:SIGCOV/
WP:NBASIC as having been the subject of significant coverage multiple independent reliable sources. These include the bylined obituaries in
WaPo,
Deadline,
NYT,
Cox Media, and NBC's
Today, as well as the book sources mentioned by Jfire above. We have substantial coverage of him as an individual, not merely coverage of his business that happens to mention him in passing, so I don't see a compelling reason to do anything other than keep. —
